I believe that the superior cannot be used with Forced Awakening
or other similar effects that allow to act as if untapped because
you cannot tap when you are already tapped. Just want to be
certain about it.

Correct. You need to actually go from an untapped state to a tapped state to
use the superior effect of the card. Similarly, Forced Awakening does not work
with The Mole (Dominate) or Mariel's special.
