I have recently developed a fetish for Abominations, and I am now
wondering if you guys have seen any moderately succesful decks using
this nifty card.
I slapped a couple of these babies into a "standard" gangrel deck
together
with 4 or 5 Renegade Garous. Had me alittle fun with an Abomination
with a Blowtorch, but the deck wasn't really optimised for this so I
didn't score any VP's.
I figure Flesh of Marble is a thing that Abominations like, and the
vamp that go fetch the garous wants to be charismatic. What else is a
"must", a "could have" or a "would be nifty with" ?
I'd like to build a deck that has fun with Abominations while trying
to score a VP or two. So please try and give me suggestions that take
ousting into consideration aswell as what would be cool to do with the
poor little abominations.
Garous are horribly expensive, something Charisma helps only a a little.
Anarchs + Cry Wolf -> Abomination might be fun and cheap, perhaps with
Babble to keep them going (and for stealth, too). Or go for the tried
and tested Necromancy to bring the Garous back when they die. Might be
even possible to use Val/Obe Ally cards for something useful.
Ousting, now that's quite a bit different issue altogether..

I have a deck that wins sometimes that uses Necromancy to Compel the
Spirit when my Garou die. You could use the same trick when you burn your
Garou to make an Abomination.
Of course the real strength of my deck is that I use Kanimana Belghazi and
Iliana, which gives me Deflection, Govern and Conditioning. I also don't
actually use Abomination, but it's not a terrible idea.
I actually played this in a tournament once, but didn't go very far as
there were Potence decks at every table. I think I got around 1 VP all
day.
Here's my decklist. It's been a while since I've played it and I'm sure
there are some changes I'd make.

For the high cost, combine Charisma with Sunset Strip, Hollywood. For the too easily dying Renegade Garous, Left for Dead can help
out.
Ghouled, btw, is another interesting card for the Renegade Garous. I´m trying to build a deck around a Renegade Garou deck with
Potence Gangrels, but so far it doesn´t look too good. Too much cards, too little space...

Ghouled can never be played in combination with Garous.
Garous are Werewolves, and Ghouled can only be played on mortals.
These are the mortals:
Arcanum Investigator Ally
Arms Dealer Ally
Courier Ally
Escaped Mental Patient Ally
Goth Band Ally
Gypsies Ally
Leonardo, Mortician Ally
Loyal Street Gang Ally
Muddled Vampire Hunter Ally
Political Ally Ally
Political Antagonist Ally
Rom Gypsy Ally
Scapelli, The Family "Mechanic" Ally
Survivalist Ally
Terrorists Ally
The Bruisers Ally
The Knights Ally
The Slashers Ally
Vagabond Mystic Ally
Wendell Delburton (Hunter) Ally
Ghouled will not work with any other ally.
Carpe noctem.

I think IMHO there is a big timing problem with the Cry Wolf, cause for the
Abomination you need an untapped
Werewolf Ally. The problem starts at the beginning, when you recruit the Cry
Wolf he is in the Uncontrolled
Region, no Abomination. Next Round, he has his Mandatory Action to D Attack
someone. He becomes
tapped. No Abomination. Only possibility I can think of is with a Change of
Target. So the Cry Wolf is untapped
and cant rush a another minion again.
Sunset strip is only usable to reduce the cost of MORTAL allies.
Some time ago, I played a !gangrel buddy's deck (with goulet, when CE came
out) and packed in 2 abominations. With gouled and charisma, each black
spiral costed only 2 pool. It was great every time I played an abomination
with a depravity an CI it to !gangrel to gain benefit of the path. Perhaps a
lot of work to set up, but his abilities are awesome, and it was really
funny to play.

Erm. Ooops. So much for that Renegade Garou/Ghouled deck I was planning.... :/

The Cry Wolf is placed in the uncontrolled region ONLY to symbolize that it
cannot act. You are still able to target the wolf through with various
effects, i.e. another minion controlled by another Methuselah could act with
Madness Network before your influence phase and steal the ally.
6.1.5
To recruit an ally from your hand, play the card and tap the acting minion.
If the action is successful, the ally is placed in your uncontrolled region,
even though it is controlled, to indicate that it cannot act this turn (and
the cost, if any, is paid)
...
At the end of the turn, any allies that were placed in your uncontrolled
region (to indicate that they cannot act) are moved to your ready region.
So, you could target it with Abomination.

With an effect that targets allies that doesn't also restrict itself to
targetting only allies in the ready region (or only to tapped allies or
what have you).
If no restrictions are specified, "controlled" is all that is required.
[1.6.1.5]
If any restrictions are specified in card text, those restrictions apply.

No. Abomination cannot target a werewolf ally that is not in the ready region.
Card text: "in your ready region"
