>The deck seems kind of low on defense and pool intensive, how did you
>manage to control tables?
Reputation.
I brought out Salubri Antitribu.
I don't play them with fewer than 15 untaps and 10+ bounce cards.
>Was it more about the threat of violence than strong defense?
Four player games are good for this style of deck. The more I do to
my prey, the more my grand-prey can do to my predator. Also, getting
the Bowl, an Abbot, and a Guardian Angel on Q after giving her
Blooding by the Code and having her untapped at the end of my turn is
discouraging for most bleed predators.
>What kinds of predators did you have through the
>tournament?
Round 1) Predator: Toreador Grand Ball Baltimore Purge that was
ousted before it saw a Purge.
Prey: Ashur's Tablets Shambling Hordes
Grand-prey: Mathias Spirit Marionette
Round 2) Anton de Conception Carrion Crows Darkness Within Thoughts
Betrayed. He failed to draw critical combat cards when opposing Q, so
she was able to Blissful Agony him away. Q was famous from the first
turn she was in play until my predator was ousted.
Prey: Edward Vignes 17 deflections deck
Grand-prey: TGBBP deck from round one, he successfully got 4 Purges
off and removed my vampires cross table to ensure his win.
Finals) The TGBBP deck from round 1 as predator. (My choice) I
couldn't afford to have him cross table again to perform 2 Purges in
one turn to remove all of my minions from the ready region. His
predator in this game was Arcadian-led Kaisyd that bled him out hard
and quickly. Her predator was Nosferatu Antitribu Potence Rush with
Beast. Pentex Subversion and Riddle Phantastique ensured that his
predator, the winning Imbued, got a quick extra 6 pool.
It's always interesting to play on others' expectations when deck
building. People can overestimate a deck or underestimate it,
depending on how/what you usually play, what new cards people are
playing, what cards come standard with a strategy and what are the
glaring weaknesses in certain deck archetypes. Well played.
