African Continental Championship

I wonder when South Africa will host the African Continental champs? And
if any representatives from any other nation thereon will come?

We're keen to host it but I haven't yet convinced myself that we have
the numbers to really make it happen. The biggest recent Cape Town
tournament had 18 players. Johannesburg and Pretoria don't run
tournaments as regularly as we do but when I ran nationals there last
year we got 10 players. So nationally I'd consider it an awesome
turnout if a continental championship host here had 25 South African
players in it. I'm also not aware of any players groups in Africa
outside of South Africa.

There was a lot of discussion here about attempting to host an African
Continental Championship during the World Cup but it's not that great
a time because travel costs sky rocket (for both national and
international travel).

If there is a lot of interested I'm happy to put together a local
organizing committee and start the ball rolling. :D

To the south african vtes comunity:

I would love to assist to the African Championship, so please try to
do it!!!!

It is kind of ironic, because of I spent half my time in africa, but
have never played vtes there! (only been in SA once and for a short
time).
But seriously, I would do my best to attend if you go for it.
