Lasombra's too fast for me ... so here's the report of the tournament
(my deck as posted above):

14 players gathered at the Pyramid gamestore in Karlsruhe, Gemany on
February 28th, 2010 to celebrate Erol's birthday (and eat cake). While
digesting the cake we also played a VtES constructed tournament.

I decided to play a Legacy of Pander deck with some support by Korah
and Marie Faucigny, based on the (wrong) assumption that the effect of
Legacy of Pander stack. Maybe I should have read *not only* the Sabbat
version of the card. The deck is modified version of the deck played
Norbert Broda and built by Gyula Erdos in 2007 (see also Lasombra's
TWD archive).

In round 1 and 3 of the tournament I got manageled between different
versions of rush combat decks as predator and decks with lots of votes
as prey. But at least I saw most of the opponents I laster faced in
the finals such as Sebastian's Brujah deck and Erol's Thetmes deck.

In the 2nd round of the tournament I managed to get clean table sweep,
because I virtually had no predator, who only bleed once in while,
which I could offset with Con Boons in general. My initial prey was
Johannes who played a high cap. Tremere group 4/5 vote deck with some
bloat capabilties, but I could pressure him early on, and by washing a
Villein in a critical moment, he was ousted soon after. But before
Johannes left the table, he had put down a Scourge of Enochians which
he and the other players used to remove all of my 1- and 2-cap
vampires. Thanks to Jimmy Dunn, Marie and Korah, I still had some
viable minions and with Johannes gone I also had vote lock. My next
predator was Raphaela, who played a wallish Tremere toolbox deck, but
luckily for me she had no vampire with superior Auspex. Initially I
had problems overcoming the wall, but then she spent too much pool for
equipment and intercept locations, I had with two Forgotten Labyrinths
and two KRCs in my hand. I could play two damaging votes and ousting
her, and damaging my next prey as well The other two players (Yann
and Marcel) then had absolutely no chance, since they lacked the votes
and intercept to stop me, while both were well below 10 pool.

Sp the ranking before the final round was:
1. Maik -- 2 GW 9 VP -- 1-cap Computer Hacks w/ Thin Blooded Seer
2. Erol -- 1 GW 6 VP -- Thetmes & Dominate Friends Aggro Poke &
Graverobbing
3. Ralf -- 1 GW 5 VP -- Legacy of Pander Vote w/ Obfuscate
4. Sebastian -- 1 GW 3.5 VP -- Brujah G4/5 Weenie/Midcap-Vote
5. Johannes -- 1 GW 3 VP -- Tremere G4/5 Vote

After Sebastian and Johannes sat down, I choose to be Johannes
predator since I had good experience with him being my prey in round
2. Erol then sat down as my predator, since he had a similar
experience with me in round 3. Finally Maik sat down, and he choose
Erol as his inital prey. I think Maik's motivation was that Erol was
the biggest thread, and if Erol could play undisturbed he would be
unable to oust him eventually. So the table seating was:

Maik (1 caps) --> Erol (Thetmes) --> Ralf (Pander) --> Johannes
(Tremere) --> Sebastian (Brujah)

I knew I couldn't bring out any one the two titled vampires (Marie
Faucigny or Korah) since Thetmes would have rushed them immediately
and graverobbed them early on, as I had witnesses him doing in the 1st
round on another deck. And my initial crypt draw was (of course) 2x
Marie and 1x Korah. So I brought out a 1 cap, and bought two vampires
from my crypt since (of course) I didn't draw any Effective Management
in the beginning. So my master plan was to let Maik oust Erol (the
biggest threat for me at the table), and then with the help of
Sebastian oust Maik (the 2nd biggest threat to me). Of course it came
down differently than expected.

Maik, as usually started out strong, influencing a horde of 1-cap
vampires. Erol as his prey choose to influence Marciana Giovanni and
Gloria Giovanni first, instead of Thetmes (which followed later) to
have some blockers early on. Nonetheless Maik put Erol under pressure
until Erol managed to play Villein on Thetmes followed an immediate
Giant's blood, and a another Villein the next turn. That stopped Maik
cold, and some backrushing by Erol ensued. In the meantime Sebastian
had moved a couple of Brujah (including Reginald Moore and Karen
Sudela) into the ready region. With the help of New Carthage and
Carthage Remembered Sebastian bled heavily and managed to pass some
political actions with the help of Erol, which diminished Maiks Pool
to around 10. I managed to pass a Legacy of Pander (with the help of
Dia de los Muertos) and bring out two additional Panders (total 3).
But compared to what Johannes had finally managed to influence out,
namely the G5 Tremere Justicar and John Dee (his special is just
awesome), I was a small fish in a big pond.

The critical moment in the game was when Sebastian started to oust
Maik for real. Since there were lots of votes on the table, at least
two players had to agree on a vote. Erol voted for anything that put
damage on his predator (Maik), but that wasn't enough to make the
political actions Sebastian called, pass. So Sebastian decided to make
both one of his small cap vampires and one progeny Princes. I tried to
bargain with him, but since we couldn't come to a complete settlement
of demands, we settled for "mutual respect" so to speak. So I helped
him pass the first prince votes (in hindsight an error, because I
simply forget about New Carthage given those princes three votes
immediately). So Sebastian ousted Maik quickly after, but when it was
my turn, and I tried to oust Johannes, he denied his help for the
final vote to oust Johannes. Luckily I had Marie Faucigny influenced
the turn before (Erol was down on two pool, and had agreed not to harm
me for two rounds), and with the help of Private Audience I could oust
Johannes. Again Johannes (as his legacy) had dropped a Scourge of
Enochians a round earlier. In the end this turned out not so bad for
me, and since Sebastian had denied his help earlier I had no remorse
burning one of Sebastians weenie Brujah Princes. Sebastian ousted Erol
quickly with the help of two Carthage Remembered and the New Carthage
in play, but suffered some damage on his minions in the process.

The heads-up game was quick and brutal. In the beginning I pentexed
Karen Suadela and removed the two Carthage Remembered to be safe from
stealthed bleeds. The votes were quite evenly divided since one a 4
cap. Brujah had become Brujah Justicar, and with Karen and Reginald,
Sebastian had 9 votes. I had influenced Korah out, giving me a total
of 9 votes (with 4 Panders and Marie). But with the Scourge in play I
lost one of weenie Panders in each of Sebastian's turns, so I was only
able to pass votes in the first part of the end game, and so I
resorted to stealth bleed with Veil the Legions. But then Sebastian
made a critical error when blocking the 2nd to last bleed (he was down
to two pool) with his Brujah justicar with one blood using 2nd
Tradition Domain. So I dunked the Brujah justicar, and suddenly could
pass a KRC with my last vampire.

Thanks to all the players who came to tournament, to Johannes for the
generous price support, Maik for hosting the tournament in the
Pyramid, and Erol for organizing the tournament (and the cake).

Best regards, Ralf

Remember, when in the old times, this used to read: "and by Suddening a

Thanks for the report Extrala, i was looking at that very same
decklist in the TWDA yesterday and snooped on ebay for legacies, good
thing you tipped me off that the legacies doesnt stack before I went
shopping =)

Sounds like a lot of fun at the tournament with a good range of decks.
Would you mind asking Erol if he wants to share the decklist he used?
I have an oooold version of that deck built in a box somewhere and it
would be fun to take it out for a spin with some new ideas in it ^^

Look at this deck (http://www.thelasombra.com/decks/
twd.htm#2k5germanchampionship) by Johannes from 2005, then replace the
8 Minion Taps with 8 Villein, groan for the old times sake, and you'll
see Erol's deck.

Wash, smash, After a Wash, one can just play another Villein, and
likely will, because one has put a few extra copies because some of
them will be surely washed. That kind of wisdom can catastrophically
fail against a well-timed Sudden.
