Since sorcery.net's upgrade I can't seem to access #vtes. Anyone else
seeing this?

Seeing as you work at an ISP, I am appalled by the vagueness of your
"It Doesn't Work" question.
What do you mean by "can't seem to access"?

Yes, because by working at an ISP, I magically gain mind-powers that
allow me to diagnose application-level issues on someone else's

Briefly:

a) I discovered that I could no longer access iuturna.sorcery.net,
it's A record wasn't working. It did have a working WWW record,
though. Which I tried.
b) I went to sorcery.net, read their post about the "upgrade". I
navigated to the link to iuturna.
c) I got a log in prompt. I gave a username, and the #vtes room

This did give me access to a room called #vtes. It wasn't *the* #vtes
room though.

From this, my mind-powers allowed me to discern (I burned a conviction
- ZING!) that there was "an issue with the cgi client connecting to
the normal #vtes room", although immediately thereafter a chunk of
kryptonite landed on my desk, preventing me from further exploiting my
telepathy further. Also it left a mark in the wood veneer.

If I had to GUESS, I'd say that the "short" upgrade period which
started 30/08/10 hasn't completed, or has failed in some way.
The other option is that it is something local to me, so I wonder if
anyone else has difficulty accessing iuturna #vtes.

I can access #vtes as usual.

No, but you can explain what happens when you try.. Like you did below.
Nothing is more annoying to tech support than "my printer doesn't work" or
"the internet is broken" type of comments.

One of the global announcements that flew by was something about
iuturna.sorcery.net itself not being rebootable, or something.
And when I connect to iuturna with a normal irc client, it redirects
me to a different server.
So I'd say, iuturna.sorcery.net is no longer connected to sorcerynet
at large. Try a different server.

If I was pitching for a technical response, I'd have posted diags. If
I just wanted confirmation that others were experiencing the same,
then...well you get the idea.

Iuturna seems to be the only one with a cgi interface, sadly.

I miss arguing with you in real-time. *sniff*

"It doesn't work" doesn't let other people confirm your symptoms,
because they have no idea what symptoms you're experiencing. The magic
mind control powers you don't have? No-one else has them either.

Is there something wrong the chat interface that's working quite happily
for me at http://www.sorcery.net/chat.html ?

Those ARE the symptoms (well, the can't access #vtes was, the rest was
context). You know, they were in post #1.

If the chat link works, I'm telling you this via that.
