Hey all... silly comedic tric deck. Not saying it's going to win
tournaments regularly, but it really could get out of control and do
BAAAAD THINGS (tm). It's all about exploiting Halim Bey's +stealth
for mummies and Spell of Life PLUS doing dodgey Wormwood shennanigans
(since the Mummies won't be affected by it...)

Basically if all goes to plan, you'll make 3+ 11-Cap Mummies, drop all
the vampires down to small capacity and either steal them with your
dodgey Serpentis shennanigans OR beat the living snot out of them with
your big Mummies.

Deck Name : Bey-in Mummies

Description :
Halim Bey + BIG CAP VAMPS, Spell of Life, Wormwood, Serpentis Minion
Theft...

Probably Completely Jank-tacular but could be HILARIOUS if it works.

You seriously need a LOT more Spell of Life if you want it to go off like,
ever. They stay in play so you can't recycle then with Ashur Tablets either.

I'd actually be planning to get 4+ 11-caps in my uncontrolled long
before I get the 5x Spell of Life.
I don't plan to use Spell of Life more than once in the game. And by
the time the Spell of Life goes off, Wormwood should be in play and
missing a couple of counters...

Ashur tablets are about recycling the REST of the cards (Reactions,
Computer Hacks, Empowerings, etc)

Use this deck as reference for how many Spell of Life you actually
need: http://www.thelasombra.com/decks/twd.htm#2k9origins2
Your deck is 88 cards and includes Ashur Tablets. That, in addition to
being a trick deck will make you never ever see more than about half
of your cards. You need to be extremely lucky to draw five out of six
Spell of Life.

Stefan,
I am sceptical of your idea that cardflow will be low. I might
consider tossing in a copy of The Barrens to really burn cards I don't
need into my ashheap, but realistically I should cycle upwards of 3
cards every turn once I get vampires (Effective Management/Ashur
Tablet, Spell of Life or Computer Hack, Event) without worrying about
reactions I might play. I'd actually be anticipating that this deck
will burn through cards rather severely (considering it's closer to a
70-card deck because of the 15 events), but I'd be happy to play it
and find out the experience-way.

You'll have oodles of "do not replace until..." Gehenna cards in play. Your
hand size will drop like a lead weight. A single Barrens will not save you
if your hand size is four cards.

(By the way, since this deck relies on playing Gehenna cards in a certain
order, leaving out Fortschritt Library should be a criminal offense.)

It doesn't have enough spells of life, trust me. Ideally it should be
about 10 or 11 in a 70 card deck (and that is JUST enough).
You MUST play one every turn of the game, from the third or preferably
second turn of the game onwards, if you want to win.
A friend and member of my playgroup (one of the best players in
Australia) spent weeks and weeks tuning a spell of life deck in our
playgroup. He got it very tuned eventually. The conclusions reached
were fairly simple:
The crypt must consist 50% of small setites (smaller the better) and
50% of inner circle vampires.
"But I can only play one spell per turn! I don't need multiple
setites!". You only need one setite to spell of life per turn, but you
need another setite to help keep you alive by bringing out cards like
Carlton and Ossian. (If they're contested, you're in trouble.)
The library must consist of Effective Managements, allies, and obf/ser
stealth, with a few Traps and maybe a smattering of defense cards like
Delaying Tactics or Ecstasy.
Don't worry too much about what happens once the mummies arrive; if
you've done your crypt and library half-properly, you have won the
game at that point, irregardless of whether or not you have silly
tricks like all mummies get +1 stealth. Rushing people five times a
turn with +1 strength minions with 11 life will destroy pretty much
any deck in the game (with a couple of exceptions, like CEL guns).
A spell of life deck can win but must be extremely focused to do so.

I actually created and played a similar deck about 3-4 wks ago.
The library i played was 65 cards. Only used 3 WW's, but 2 Forschritt
librarys; and 7 Spells.
Didn't pull WW until abt rnd 5 :-P
Never got the Spell off, got it to 4th in hand then got ousted :-/

I did get Thirst down early, and that w Restricted Vitae was
particularly powerful. This was compounded by WW played a few rnds
later plus a few more gehennas meant everyone was getting hit by the
Thirst/RV combo. It made me think all u really need to do is get WW
down to 5 counters (means u've got abt 6 Gehennas in play) as the
Thirst/RV combo drops everyone down to 1 blood and keeps them there
(unless they've got blood-gaining tech).

If the Spell had gone off it may have been successful or if WW had
come out at the start, but sitting there for 10 rnds doing little was
not exciting. The deck is rather dependant on what everyone else is
playing too.
I'd agree w the comment that the +1 stealth is irrelevant. by the time
the 9th WW counter is removed all vamps are screwed by the Thirst/RV/
WW combo and would be caned by an 11-cap mummy.
Guns are a killer so i'd include Conceal.
May be worth trying to fine-tune...

Even if you're playing five cards per turn, that means you're only
going to see sixty cards of your library in most games. Given that
your Spells of Life are one-in-fifteen, that means you're only going
to see four of them. And five cards per turn seems generous to begin
with.

It's not closer to a 70-card deck due to the events. Even if Janne
were wrong about them restricting your handsize, which he's not,
events aren't burn-option cards. They take the place of some other
card you would have been discarding anyway, so pretending that they
don't count towards the effective size of the library (even if they
didn't act as a hand-anchor during all your phases except the discard
phase, which they do even without any DNA clause) won't work out in
your favor.

Like I do for everyone building a trick deck, I strongly suggest
following the model of only building this deck with what you
absolutely need and then adding stuff that's missing later. The idea
is quite cool, though I'd be concerned that the amount of table hate
this kind of poison deck generates will be at least as problematic as
the library draft you've presented here.

Why on earth would you want to play 7 Ashur Tablets? I mean 6 or 9
seems like a good number in the world of tablets. But 7?

Also, why play them to begin with? They're 7/88 so you won't draw them
very often. You don't have multiple mpa's so you'll get out-ashur'd by
other decks running them. And you don't play liquidations so you won't
be able to go all Dominion on your deck and trash it down to the cards
you need midgame/lategame. I just don't see them doing much in this
deck.

I suggest always playing more than a multiple of three. Purely
because some cheeky smartass will wash/SR one of your tablets just to
"ruin your last set".

John,
Well there are some potential cardslots I can free up to alter the
balance of the Tablets/Spell of Life ratio. Probably by dropping down
the numbers of other cards, other than Gehenna Events.

As noted above: I probably should get a Fortschritt in there...

Well, getting your first 3 is the key so if playing 6 you wouldn't
risk getting washed out of your first activation. You'd also be able
to return any washed copies back to the deck. I can see playing 4
tablets for the reasons you mention but at any point you're going 6 or
more it will be unnecessary to add the odd extra copy.
