The Bruce Cup 2010 Report

Recently the Bruce Cup was held in Blacktown. For those who don't
know it is an annual tournament in memory of Matt "Lord Ashton"
Barnett, proceeds from this tournament go to Cancer Charities. It
tends to be a more social tournament and people bring along "trick-
decks" rather than "Tier 1 Tournament Killers".
Congratulations to Eugene Chan and his Saulot Bleed Deck. If we can
get hold of Eugene we can post his deck up.
The final table was seated with:
Marty Collins> Eugene Chan(1st seed)> Michael> Jeremy> Nick Miller
Marty: Giovanni Smash & Steal (Lorenzo Detuono is a key Minion)
Eugene: Saulot Bleed
Michael: Maris Streck Sees All
Jeremy: Malk-Anti S&B
Nick: Mummies of the Inner Circle (G2 I.Cs w/ Spell of Life)
After seating, and Marty suffering the Marty Curse (playing first in
games when Michael Bailey has been present during the day - he 'drew'
Seat 1, Seat 2, Seat 1 in 2R +F)...
Marty played an early KRCG, only to have it Suddened by Jeremy cross-
table because he was "only cycling". Michael also deliberated over
discarding or playing Dragonbound in the early stages.
The early minions brought out were Eugene with Eurayle; Michael with
Maris Streck (then put Monster & Alastor on her); Jeremy had Dolphin
Black; Nick had Lolita, Celine Chevalier & Carlton; Marty had Baldesar
Rosselini.
Jeremy apparently gets tired of the threat of Maris Streck, so he
turns around and bleeds Michael for 3 with a Kindred Spirits. At the
end of Nick's minion phase, Eugene uses Saulot w/ Enkil Cog to bleed
out Michael for the first oust of the final.
Nick then unleashes the mummies and using Spell of Life brings out 4 x
G2 Inner Circle Members and a 10cap. Jeremy then bleeds cross-table,
to Marty, with his Kindred Spirits and gets flicked to Eugene. Eugene
then passes it onto Nick (who was Jeremy's Prey).
Saulot bleeds Jeremy during Nick's turn, gets flicked along to Nick
who attempt to Archon Investigate him only to be told "Can't Master-
OoT in your own turn...". Nick puts Fame on Gualtiero Ghiberti then
the Mummies go smash Eurayle and Maldavis owned by Eugene.
Eugene takes out Jeremy putting him on 2VPs. Before making a clean
sweep of the table.
