We get it.
Nobody likes a self-ouster, or a kingmaker, or an unsportsmanlike player.
But we don't need mechanical rules to regulate this.
Just stop being jerks! Play the game! Have fun, and try to win.
The end.
Well said Joshua, I agree.
Woooooooooooooot! Josh for Alastor!
In general I think violence is underestimated as a way to solve
problems in this world. This is a prime example of where a nightstick
or a bat could help a lot.
"If you selfoust like that, you will be picking your teeth up from the
floor with broken fingers, Buddy".
"If that is how you want to play it, then I will have to introduce you
to Mr. I-have-created-more-widows-than-the-plague here. *tap tap*"
"Selfouster, meet Chuck. Chuck, meet Selfouster".
This is where having a proper edge is an essential part of playing old
School VtES.
Preferably an edge that has an edge, yah know? I have this lovely
Tanto, got some old blood stains on it. Works like a charm....
I use a padlock ;)

But what if the other player has a concealed .44? You're gonna need a
maneuver!
Ranged unpreventable is a beautiful thing in multiples....
All I need is the power of Illusion and space... then you will learn
the pain of Mayaparisatya...
*taps fingers together with Gypsy-like grins*

Who was joking? Cutting off fingers stops people from being able to
move the counters to transfer out....
Well, I _am_ serious.
Of course by the nature of usenet I knew that there'd be silly responses,
but that doesn't change my feeling that the main solution to unsportsmanlike
activity is to encourage people to be sportsmanlike.
Sportsmanlike: Can that be taken to mean someone who behaves in a
sports like manner? Running is a sport, so can i make jerks run away
screaming with a dagger or satke embedded in them? Is that encouraging
sportsmanlike behaviour? suppose this needs a smiley. (smiley)
Speaking for opposing viewpoint:
Jerks are great! They force us to engage in personal introspection we would
probably never do without them. For instance, have you ever just wanted to
punch a guy out and then stopped and thought, "Now just what is it I really
hate about this guy's attitude?" And then, when you come up with an answer,
you've learned something about yourself wouldn't have known. "Thank you,
asshole!"
Don't be so dismissive. We should be very thankful for the jerks and dirtbags
of the world.
