[Detailed report coming]

Date: 27 Jun 2009
Location: Unlimited Hobbies Blacktown
Players: 5 (disappointing but it happens sometimes)
Winner (Player/Clan): Eugene Chan/Brujah
Nomination: Count Germaine
Key Minion: Count Germaine

With so few people, we were basically playing for "positioning rights"
at the finals table. In the end the Finals table fell to Eugene's
Germaine/Dmitra Multi-rush of doom deck.... Something about the Count
rushing 5 times in a single turn that can cause issues.

More details to come, but well done to Eugene.

Is it possible to see the decklist of the Germaine/Dmitra deck? I have
somehow similar idea so I would certainly be glad to compare.
Thanks
Petr

I'll see if I can post it. Generally it was a Potence-Immortal
Grapple combat (w/ Slams for spare maneuvers) then Forced March/Freak
Drive untap to rush with a different action card (Commonly Bum's Rush
followed by another rush card and finally because of the Toreador
decks Basic Count's inbuilt Basic Rush-Toreador action).

Did Dmitra's voting power factor into it at all, or was it pure rush?
I've got a similar deck that uses Iron Glares for bleeding and voting,
but I can't find room for the referendums with all the combat and rush.

It was basically Count Germaine rips everybody's arms off and if there
are minions left over, Dmitra does the same... bleed them out through
the pile of armless corpses.

David Vega Toreador 4/1

Chen Zhong Brujah 1.5/0

Winning Clan: Brujah
Nomination for Imperator: Count Germaine
Key Vampire from deck: Count Germaine

With the relatively low turn-out, it was surprising to also have such
a strong showing from two clans. Most of the tables full due to luck
and having the right card showing on the Imperator Hand. The
attendance was probably low due to the unfortunate late change of
dates, but these things couldn't be helped.

Many of the rounds were violent bloodbaths predominantly lead by Multi-
Rushing Count Germaine and Dmitra Ilyanov played by Eugene.

The first table had Eugene bleeding Chen, bleeding CK, bleeding David,
bleeding me. After a moderate amount of back and forth Francois
Villon, controlled by CK, used Banishment on Donal O’Connor and the
table supported it. The conflict raged between the European Brujah
controlled by Chen and Eugene’s Germaine & Dmitra, before Volker was
diablerised by Count Germaine. A short time later, one of my own
vampires was in a combat with Count Germaine and David used the Direct
Intervention to cancel my maneuver and the Count smashed one of my
minions to torpor. On the next turn around the table David managed to
oust me and soon after took out Eugene. At that point the table
stabilised and the round timed out.

On the second table I was bleeding CK, bleeding Eugene, bleeding David
and bleeding Chen. Again the table slashed heavily with a lot of
violent combats, when a Banishment came from the Imperator Deck Don
Cruez sent Constanza Vinti from the table. The battle raged between
my own “Old Brujah” and the Eurobrujah of Chen’s. Donal O’Connor,
controlled by Chen, had been crippling both myself and David so
Anabelle Triabelle (controlled by CK) decided that he needed to suffer
Banishement and he was sent on his way. Soon after Yuri the Talon
rushed into combat with Theo Bell, it was always meant to be a suicide
mission and Yuri managed to land a blow with his Wooden Stake that
sent Theo Bell to torpor. Knowing the opportunity wouldn’t come
again, Yuri diablerised Theo before he could retreat to torpor. The
table spared Yuri but soon after I was bled out. CK soon took Eugene,
David took Chen and the table timed out.

The Final Table had me bleeding Eugene, bleeding Chen, bleeding CK,
bleeding David. The table again crashed into an early bloodbath with
the Brujah bleeding each other. Eugene’s team were tapped out often,
so with New Carthage on the table Rake and Yuri were bleeding for 2 to
3 with Enchant Kindreds and Eugene was getting lower and lower on
pool. In CK’s turn Donal O'Connor was banished by Anabelle
Triabelle. This dropped a fair amount of pressure off CK, who was
being actively propped up by David. I saw my chance to potentially
take Eugene and Chen, so I influenced out Theo Bell (Basic) for the
contest with Chen and Eugene only had the Count. This left Chen with
no controlled vampires and on 4 or so pool and Eugene on roughly 3
pool. With New Carthage in play, I was in a good position to take out
Eugene and get Chen soon after (who couldn’t have kept up the payments
for contesting Theo). Eugene bled Chen for 2 and Chen decided his
situation was lost so he paid for contesting Theo and then transferred
out. This is the point that tipped the game entirely. Count Germaine
soon went into a battle frenzy and smashed his way through CK, then
David and finally it came down to a 1-on-1 with Yuri, Theo and Don
Cruez (the Justicar since Dmitra released the title) against Count
Germaine and Dmitra Ilyanova. All of my ready minions had their
Wooden Stakes sharpened and the Count had Preternatural Strength and
Dmitra had Heroic Might. It would all be decided on the next combat
between Theo Bell and Count Germaine; if I could whack the Count, Theo
was going to Amaranth the Count and using Ritual of the Bitter Rose
distribute it around. But the Count got Theo and my game basically
ended with Eugene getting a clean-sweep of the finals table.

Decklist will be posted soon.

Eugene Chan's Winning Deck

This is more or less the same deck played at both the Blacktown and
Chippendale Storyline. The difference was perhaps an extra Count
Germaine Adv in the crypt over a 5 cap Toreador I had in there
previously though he never showed in Blacktown as opposed to
consitently being there for Chippendale. Deck has no answer for range
combat and usually relies on Germaine's basic "no weapon" text to deal
with guns
