A short personal report. Once again, sorry for any missing player
names.
Round 1
-------
New Ventrue Bleed -> Ravnos Block & Bleed (Rudolf Edlmayer) -> Nocturn
S/B (Richard Farkas) -> Vignes (Me) -> Aching Beauty
My starting Crypt was Ingrid Russo/Lana Butcher/Diana Vick/Catherine
Du Bois, so I bought Ingrid, governed out Lana, governed out Diana,
bought Catherine. Rudolf influenced Vasiliy Vasilevich and another
Ravnos, my prey had Alexandra, Richard got Onaedo, Emernegildo, Andrew, and
a fourth minion. My grand prey got Gotsdam and later Lodin and a third
prince.
My first ~20 cards consisted largely of Majesty and DT, so I just bled
for 1 a couple of times and discarded while Rudolf was blocking some of
Richards actions, the New Ventrue bled into Rudolf, and my prey brought
out a second minion.
Rudolf was eventually forced to play defense so my predator started
bleeding into me, my prey deflected back to me and I was
brought down to 3 pool. On my next turn, I tapped out to bleed my
prey for 16 for the oust (replacing two deflections) and influenced
Ranjan Rishi.
The New Ventrue ousted Rudolf and Richard had enough stealth to get by
an unmasked Jake Washington three times, so I was ousted next followed
by the New Ventrue for a Lasombra GW.
Result: New Ventrue 1VP, Richard Farkas GW3, Me 1VP
Round 2
-------
Norbert Broda (!Ventrue Bleed & Block) -> Colos (Tremere Allies) ->
Malkavian Vote -> Weenie DBR -> Me
Weenie rush predator and none of my first 7 Vampires were Vignes :(.
I spent the entire game chump blocking Watenda, digging for Majesties,
rescuing from torpor, and blocking Graverobbing. The Malkavians got
the only VP before time was called.
Result: Malkavian Vote 1VP, Norbert, Colos, and me 0.5VP
Round 3
-------
Me -> Carna -> Enkidu -> Milan Horvath (Cybele Call the Great Beast)
My starting crypt was Ranjan/Diana/Lana/Elena, so I went for a
turn-two Ranjan, followed by turn-three Lana + Elena. When I saw my
prey's first Vampire, I decided to play aggressively, started
bleeding and influenced Diana.
My predator got Cybele, Cybele called the Great Beast, the Great Beast
started rushing me.
I considered this and offered my grandprey to team up on Cybele after
ousting my prey, then play the duel, which he accepted (I had helped
him by rescuing one of his Vampire from torpor and burning Carna's
Ivory Bow with a Troublemaker).
Carna didn't draw a lot of wakes and with only two minions (Carna &
Ladislas) was ousted two turns later; meanwhile I decrypted Catherine
and Edward.
Cybele couldn't do much against an Enkidu with no predator, and I won
the duel thanks to Coven/Pentex/Daring and having six minions.
Result: Me GW3, Enkidu 1VP
Apparently, 23 of the 29 decks present were either rush or block, so
most games timed out (only 7GWs).
Finals
------
Richard Farkas (Nocturn S/B)
Me -> Richard
Me -> Csaba Greguss (Lasombra S/B with some Black Hand Tech) -> Richard
Gyula Erdos (Animalism Rush) -> Me -> Csaba -> Richard
Gyula -> Me -> Balazs Sebestyen (Hexaped) -> Csaba -> Richard
I had spectated some of Gyula's and Csaba's games, but hadn't seen
Balazs's deck at all.
My starting crypt was Vignes/Rishi/Nostinus/Russo, so I got out Vignes
but couldn't pass any superior governs after a first-turn Unmasking
from my prey. I tried misdirecting my preys sole Hexaped, then
entrancing it on turn four but found out he was playing Auspex
intercept as well, so I just influenced some minions and waited while
my Jake Washington prevented him from getting more than two allies.
Gyula started backrushing right away, and ate one of his predators
minions, but ran out of rush, so Richard managed to get out two more
Lasombra, who started making free Nocturns and bleeding into Gyula,
forcing him to play defensively for the rest of the game.
Richard didn't draw the crucial bleed modifier, and left Gyula on 1
pool before being ousted by Csaba, who ousted both him and Gyula in
quick succession.
I made an attempt at my prey (on four pool at this point), but he had
the OtQV to block a daring-bleed and Csaba bled me out.
Balazs had apparently saved some Mirror Walks, so he won the duel.
Result: Csaba GW3, Balazs 2VP
