--[1.1 - Word from the Editor]----------------------

Well this is my second anniversary issue - two years of dedicated
Ahrimane NLs. Hopefully you have found them to be informative, and at
least a little inspiring. I have certainly found that I look at cards
in more depth than before, and indeed I seem to be having more success
than before - with some good results this year. Perhaps you have
something to add to this, with successes and perspectives on the
Ahrimanes, if so please let me know of your thoughts.

--[1.2 -Next Issue]------------------------------------

There will be coverage of Lords of the Night, which should be released
on 26th of September, this may cut it a little fine for finishing the
newsletter before the end of the month. If that happens then October
may be a double issue month, hurrah for that.

--[2.1 - Crypt Card Focus]--------------------------

This month is we look at another Laibon, and another Guruhi

Fish
Clan: Guruhi (group 4)
Capacity: 5
Disciplines: ANI POT pre
Laibon.

As you can see, Fish provides cheap ANI and pre, he also brings some
POT which could be used to fortify the Anarch Ahrimanes that were
featured in NL 26.
However what else does POT bring? Well there are the usual combat
beatings, but that won't necessarily stack up well with your other
Ahrimanes unless you start adding Skill cards. However Sword of Caine
bought this
Touch of Pain
Type: Reaction
Requires: Potence
Cost: 1 blood
Only usable when a bleed against you is successful or a referendum
passes. Play after resolution.
[pot] This vampire inflicts 1 damage on the acting minion. Only one
Touch of Pain can be played each action.
[POT] As above, but for 2 damage.

Which can be useful for sticking it to those really sneaky decks,
especially in conjunction with a rush or two to finish off the
offending minion.
Something else that might be useful is Hourglass of the Mind, to
filter through your deck, although if you are using the pot version,
you might be better off with

Scrounging
Type: Action
+1 stealth action.
Look at up to 3 cards from the top of your library and move up to 2 of
them to your hand. Discard down to your hand size and shuffle
afterward.

This is because all of your minions can play the card, and it is a
common rather than a rare. Indeed I have used Scrounging in a Black
Hand !Nosferatu deck, and found it to be quite useful.

--[2.2 - Library Card Focus]------------------------

This month I present a little loophole that XZealot found. It allows
your Gangrel Antitribu to gain superior Spiritus, and still remain as
Gangrel Antitribu. It starts with this card

Clan Impersonation
Type: Action
Cost: 2 blood
+1 stealth action.
Choose a clan and put this card on the acting vampire. This vampire is
considered to be of the chosen clan instead of his or her original
clan (if any). This vampire can burn this card as an action.

Your !Gangrel will need to, change their clan to !Gangrel, which seems
stupid, but when you use Muricia's ability it is important.

Muricia
Clan: Ahrimane (group 4)
Capacity: 7
Disciplines: ANI PRE SPI
Sabbat: During your untap phase, a Gangrel antitribu you control may
burn 1 blood to become a sterile Ahrimane and gain 1 level of
Spiritus. +1 strength. Sterile.

As you can see a !Gangrel can become an Ahrimane by burning further
blood, which normally overrides the vampires original clan. However
with Clan Impersonation in play that then overrides the change in
Clan, so reverting back to !Gangrel, but with a gain of Spiritus.
This of course means that the vampire with the Impersonation can do it
again in a following turn to gain Superior Spiritus.
Of course you could have Muricia turn into a !Gangrel, and then you
can take full advantage of the various clan cards available, such as
Bay and Howl, Gangel Conspiracy and Leathery Hide.

--[3.1 - Deck: Veszprem (Mini-
Qualifier)]---------------------------------------

This month we have a tournament winning deck, which was created by
Gergo Gyarmati who qualified for the European Championship.
Here is Gergo's winning deck:
Deck Name: Cheap, unimaginative Ahrimanes wall
Created By: Gergo Gyarmati

Crypt [12 vampires] Capacity min: 1 max: 8 average: 5.67
------------------------------------------------------------

4x Howler 8 ANI PRE SPI obf Ahrimane:2
3x Siamese, The 7 PRE SPI ani pro Ahrimane:2
2x Cynthia Ingold 6 SPI ani for pre Ahrimane:2
1x Angela Decker 1 pre Pander:2
1x Antoinette DuChamp 1 cel pre Caitiff:2
1x Igo the Hungry 1 pre pro Caitiff:1

Library [90 cards]
------------------------------------------------------------

Action [15]
6x Enchant Kindred
2x Engling Fury
2x Heart of the City
5x Legal Manipulations

Action Modifier [8]
3x Aire of Elation
5x Squirrel Balance

Ally [1]
1x Ossian

Combat [18]
8x Aid from Bats
2x Canine Horde
8x Carrion Crows

Combat/Action Modifier [10]
10x Swiftness of the Stag

Master [15]
3x Animalism
5x Blood Doll
4x Grooming the Protégé
1x Powerbase: Barranquilla
1x Powerbase: Montreal
1x Rack, The

Reaction [19]
4x Cats' Guidance
5x Falcon's Eye
3x On the Qui Vive
7x Speak with Spirits

Retainer [4]
4x Raven Spy

There are some heavy bleeds in there, and also some of the new 3rd
Edition cards making an appearance. There is also quite a lot of
bloat, with the Powerbases and the Grooming the Protégé, although it
seems a little combat light. Perhaps with the Ahrimanes reputation,
and a little bluffing is enough to keep this deck going.

--[3.2 - Sign Off]-------------------------------------

I have been chasing up information on to when this years worldwide
Storyline might be happening, but have yet to come up with anything,
so if you know the dates can you please let me know - just trying to
fit everything into the Bath schedule.

Seem to have lost two days there, which is of course wrong - just an
editing mistake.
