European Championship Qualifier in Cannes, february 16th 2008
25 players, 3 rounds+final, 1GW 4.5VP to hit the final, 1GW4VP to hit a
qualifying slot.
Final :
meh (cheesy !malk S&B) -> Johannes Walch (ventrue law firm) -> Jonathan
(harbinger wall with trochomancy) -> Axel (Tupdog Neph) -> Pierre Denis aka
PII (Pelletier Ishtarri)
Johannes died horribly in 40 minutes due to constant no-brain dementation
bleed. Axel got targeted by PII's KRC, Neph theft via Entrancement, even a
Tupdog being the victim of Jonathan's Chair of Hades. Axel still pounded on
his prey PII's vamps. Then, after quite a drop in pace of play with everyone
being careful, Jonathan got Smiling Jack into play, with his prey
Axel/Tupdog low on pool+blood. I ran out of stealth trying to burn the
Smiling unsuccessfully. 10 minutes or so before the time limit, PII went for
killing moves and Axel and I defended like we could. Finally PII ousted me
with a Strange Day'ed bleed+lethal Kine, ousting Axel at the same time. Then
time limit, PII having higher seed than Jonathan won the tournament.
Congrats to him!
Mini-qualifier for the European Championship Qualifier in Cannes, february
17th 2008
17 players, 2 rounds+final
Final :
Blondin (aus/ani intercept combat) -> PII (spirit marionette + !trem with
infernal pact) -> Jonathan (weenie quietus Loss/Thin Blood) -> Yannick
(Nosfe Royalties) -> Moisi (!malk S&B)
The Nosfe Royalties didn't go for outright agression and probably had some
regrets later on, since his Parity Shift got systematically Delayed later on
(like 5-7 times). Moisi's !Malks initially got some bleeds through, then
splattered on Blondin's intercept. PII launched heavy bleeds after
Marionetting a few times and emptying Jon's vamps with Heidelberg,
eventually ousting him. Jon had lowered his own prey with Loss, so PII just
had to squeeze another and easy oust. Moisi exhaused his library and made
quite a few mistakes, bleeding with low-cap vamps with Aranthebes on the
table. PII was moving forward too fast for Blondin's kill setup involving
Smiling and actually sweeped the table. So that makes him the winner twice
in a row, congratulations again ! especially for a semi-retired player who
hadn't played in a tournament for a year or so.
