Congratulations to Steve McCroy from NZ who won the SE QLD Qualifier
with a turbo Arika deck. Quality stuff. I went into the final as
first seed with a Cailean wall/Vermin Chanel bleed deck, but was
screwed on the final table, as all other 4 decks were fast decks.

Final table was

Rolf ? (!Malk Stealth/Bleed) 0VP
Evor ? (Settite + Anson Stealth/Bleed) 2VP (thanks to flicked
unblockable bleeds from Arika)
Julian Gatt (Cailean Wall) 0VP
Andrew Daley (Weenie obfuscate hack) 0VP
Steve Mcroy (Turbo Arika) 3VP

Evor could have won the table, after only playing for a short period
of time. He had xfered 4 to a new vampire when Steves Turboness
kicked off. With Steves last action of the game, he bled with a
Conditioning for 5 and played Elder Impersonation for Stealth, (Evor
was on 4 pool at the time). At the completion of the game, Steve had
1 card left in his hand. If Evor had not transfered, he would have
survied the Turbo Arika and been able to oust Steve in the final
washup.

I don't have a decklist for Steve, Bernie the organiser (or Steve if
he's on here), might have a decklist to post so that he can be
immortalized in the TWDA.

Steve emailed me his deck, I doubt he'd worry about me posting it
here.

DeckName: Arika Turbo
Created by: Steve McCroy

Vamps (15)

Arika x15 (could have more, 15 was enough)

Library (90)

Daring the Dawns x10
Force of Wills x10
Soul Gems x7
Majesty x3
Freak Drive x10
Conditioning x10
Distraction x10
Awe x10
Praxis Seizure: Geneva x4, Berlin x4, Cairo x2
Forgotten Labyrinth x5 (would add one more)
Elder Impersonation x3 (would exchange for Faceless Night x4
Seduction x2 (would delete)

Comments: Well the run is you get Arika out, wait a turn (hopefully no
pentex, smash, or her getting torped), next you equip her with soul
gem, Freak Drive to untap, then call Praxis S whatever to increase her
capacity +1 and to make her prince of whatever, Awe it so you burn the
blood off Arika down to 2, pass the vote with 22 votes for, now you
are ready to bleed, force of will +2 bleed, daring the dawn to make it
unblockable at inferior, conditioning for a bleed of 8, taking 3 agg
damage burning Arika and a new ones comes into play. Play Praxis, Awe,
Force of Will, Daring the Dawn, Conditioning bleed of 8, if you get
stuck you can play distraction to not only get rid of the other soul
gems and rubbish from your hand but to get back on track with the card
combo. freak drive to then call PS

repeat until you have wiped everyone out

Congratulations Steve!

There are a few unreported items that are required for the TWDA.

4c, 4d

I would assume that it was this event:

but clarity and completeness in reporting are their own rewards.

Just realised (had it pointed out to me by Steve), that his name is
misspelled.
It is Steve McRoy.

I didn't think that he, as a NZ could read. I was wrong. :P

Sure, but I'll need someone to pay for my flights and accommodation.
I've got a great T-shirt to wear...

Should go down like a house on fire! :D
