Nethack 3.4.3 win32 binaries and Win7/x64

I've been using the official win32 binaries for quite a while. I just upgraded to Windows 7 x64.. and the binaries will not work. I tried all the XP compatibility modes, but the application closes immediately without ever showing everything and Win7 helpfully categorises the error as 'APPCRASH'. Any ideas/pointers? I like to play nethack sometimes as a monster, I have initpoly.c but it's for Nethack 3.4.3 and I want to try Slashem a few times the same way. but since initpoly was written for Nethack the code don't work in Slashem. Could anyone here do a Slashem port of initpoly for me? thanks

After 20k+ turns my Valkyrie's sacrifice was accepted and I got the Sunsword from my god. (Had already Excalibur from fountain dipping.) Now I wonder where Mjollnir is? I've not yet found it lying around. Shall I probably genocide all those peaceful gnomes just in case one of them had picked it up? Clearly, I don't really need that artifact... more »

So over the holiday I took one of my save games that has been parked in Gehennom since forever and wrestled my human lawful Archaeologist up to Astral for my very first ascension.
