Not sure if this is specific to UnNethack, or if it's in "vanilla" Nethack, but I noticed that one of the "ranks" (what shows up down at the bottom of the screen by your name, e.g. "Ed the Ronin") you can get as a Samurai is "Ninja"...
Now, I'm pretty sure ninjas and samurai are completely different things... So why is "Ninja" a samurai rank in Nethack? Surely there is some better word to use?

Makes about as much sense as my character starting with a kitten.
