Am I expected to dig out every level on the map or what?

You don't have to kill and discover everything in every game. You
merely need to meet the requirements for ascension, which typically
only requires a fraction of a game's available resources.

Unless you have a scroll of charm monster (and hopefully
a magic whistle) tunneling over there is definitely not worth
it.

And it can't be genoed!

Lovely.

I wonder if these can be trained to grab the amulet and go sit in an
undigable corner of the map for the rest of the game.
