WARNING - THE SHROOMERY IS FULL OF RACISTS. Proof is presented here:

I hate to reply to you because you're a douche, however...
The "oLS, from what I understand, saves you only from HP-loss related
death, any kind of poison death (food poisoning, poison arrows/darts/
spikes), choking (I believe, don't have source handy, at work.), and
stoning I believe. There might be other instances, I can't recall
offhand, but the mind flayer attack drains a stat; which wouldn't be
restored by the "oLS, so even if it saved your life, you'd still be at
INT of >3, so you'd just die again of brainlessness. Maybe in the
future the "oLS can be adjusted to restore *some* intelligence if
drained, but currently it doesn't restore stats (from my experience,
someone can correct me if I'm wrong)
So it can regenerate a head but not brains. That makes zero sense.
Obviously the stat restriction needs to be lifted for INT since the
only way you lose that stat is by mind flayers or a cursed potion of
gain ability (the latter only occurs 1/6th of the time when quaffed).
Stop defending stupidity.

It's not that it can't regenerate brains but that it regenerates you
to your healthy state; if you died from brainlessness, reviving you
would merely leave you with the same lack of brain and you'd still be
dead. Alternatively, you can read 'death by brainlessness' as 'not
necessarily dead but not intelligent enough to continue your quest'
You don't seem to understand the illogic of an amulet curing a lack of a head
but not the lack of what's inside the head.
