note: I haven't been able to get it to compile on Linux yet. I'll try
to fix that tomorrow.

note also: though it's distributed under the GPL, some areas of the code
are in need of refactoring, so I encourage you to get in touch if you do
intend to modify it.

Looks good Geoff, I'll have a propere look tomorrow when my own coding
time is done :) Doing it from scratch is definitely hardcore.

I've put up a new version which does compile under Linux/g++. The
original 7DRL version is still available of course.

Thanks for the very detailed review (and excellent screenshot).

I will put a fix for the laptop numeric keypad issue in version 1.2.
