The first restored release of Rogue 5.4 (5.4.1) is now available at

http://roguelike.sourceforge.net/rogue54.shtml

Changes include:
- Port to native 32-bit Windows (Console)
- Visual Studio 20003, MingW32, MSYS build targets added
- Binaries now distributed for DOS, native Windows, Linux and AIX
- Save file protections removed (weren't reliable on modern systems)
- Various bug fixes

Rogue 5.4 was developed between 1983 and 1984 and was not commonly
released. It is around this time that development of Rogue moved from
BSD Unix to DOS (a commercial endeavor). The most common release of 5.4
is found on the BSD 4.3 Unix distribution tape (June 1986) as archived
on the CSRG Archives CD Set and only as a binary executable.

This is the final version of the original (Toy, Arnold, Wichman) rogue
developed for the UNIX operating system. The source code was
recovereeed by Ken Arnold and posted on Sourceforge which I then copied
and restored here.
