Things were pretty smooth with this character after finding boots of speed before stat gain, and Ringil at 2100'. Dal-i-thalion at 2400' may have been more significant than I had thought at first, since that meant I could stop wearing Caspanion for confusion and swap in an Elvenkind armor with disenchantment resist, which is how I operated... more »

OK, I know that it is bad luck to brag about your early successes with a character, but I just can't help myself with this one. This character, a Dunadan Priest, is maybe an hour old. Arkenstone activation in Vanilla

Just found Arkenstone. By the time you find it it is pretty much useless item. In particularly its activation is useless. All other lightsources detect dungeon structures (phial lites rooms, Star magic maps and palantir wizard-lights entire dungeon). We need to boost its activation. pushing past monster messages

After a long hiatus (V3.0.5 was the last one), I started playing Angband again. Although the new improvements are quite interesting, one has been driving me crazy: ever since I found a telepathy hat, the ancient dragon pushing past other monsters generate long messages every time I find them in a stuffed room or a pit, making resting, digging or simply moving about... more »

How to save squelch settings in 3.1.1

In the latest version of Angband, I can't seem to get my squelch settings to save with the rest of my options. How can I save them so that I don't have to go through every item type and reset them with each new character?
