  I seem to recall finding out that this was buried in a file with a name &lt;br&gt; something like font-x11.prf for X11 -- thanks to helpful people in the &lt;br&gt; That file defined alternative symbols or character codes to use for a &lt;br&gt; few terrain features. Copying the default file into my prefs directory &lt;br&gt; and removing those lines fixed them. (I then also fixed the colors so

  Hi All, &lt;br&gt; I&#39;m trying to play angband 3.1.1 on my Linux system using the gcu interface. &lt;br&gt; My screen reader, Speakup, has serious problems with the map as it appears &lt;br&gt; by default. I can distinguish my character easily, but the other objects &lt;br&gt; and terrain are all uniformly unreadable. &lt;br&gt; Is there an option I can use to go back to the old style ASCII interface?

I&#39;m not finding any flags left as ? on thrown items by the way. &lt;br&gt; But this distressing log may clear things up: &lt;br&gt; You see a Beaked Axe (2d6). &lt;br&gt; Your Beaked Axe of Flame flares! &lt;br&gt; The Beaked Axe (2d6) burns the Rattlesnake. &lt;br&gt; You know more about the Beaked Axe of Flame you are using. &lt;br&gt; The Rattlesnake dies.

  I broke a hammer doing this. I&#39;ve assumed it&#39;s therefore not an artifact :) &lt;br&gt; Currently my plan is pseudo-ID and throw magical things. If it&#39;s ego or &lt;br&gt; better then I&#39;ll just try it, but I&#39;ve still got a blocked ring slot with a &lt;br&gt; -1 searching ring. Unsurprisingly no remove curses to be seen. I&#39;m not
