In the description of this item it says it detects, amongst other
things, traps.
When I map the whole level using it, I certainly can't see any traps
and I can find traps later using standard mage detection.
Wrong description / bug / me doing something wrong?

Phil.

Done some more experimenting. When I activate it, it definitely says
that its looking for traps.
I wonder if its using the code for potions of enlightenment to map the
level, then doing a small range detect traps.
If so, then maybe its only the description that needs to be tweaked a
little as it has something like detects objects, traps, door, stairs -
suggesting that the functionality for all of them are the same.

Phil.

That's exactly what it does. Same for doors and monsters.

Stairs and items are detected everywhere by wizard light.
