I used to think it was the worst game ever....then I played X-Files.
over time, I started to like the game enough that I would call it not
bad. The artwork is awesome (I love that DE era playfield art), music
is good (ZZ Top and C& C Music Factory), and the theme is pretty good
(LW movies are enjoyable). I would say 900-1200 for price as these go
cheap. One in my area sat for sale for months at 900...was tempted to
get it.

I am a W/B snob so having said that I think LW is ugly and the gameplay
sucks. That also had to be the worst movie of them all.

I swear they must have made more LW3s than Addams...almost every
auction I ever went to had LW3...sometimes 3 or 4 of them.

Lisa - they ALWAYS pop up on CL...actually, a friend of mine might
wanna sell his....I can ask for you.

I have never played one and think I probably would rather have a
LAH..but was curious on what people thought of it and game play

I have had one for @ 3 years, and it is pretty fun. The music is good,
the graphics are cool, and the game play is enjoyable. Fairly simple
and straightforward, but easy to understand for kids and newer players
or even casual games with friends or family. I personally like the
playfield artwork as well (sort of comic book-like). If you don't mind
Joe Pesci, as already pointed out, it is a good game to have.

It sits in line next to my Black Knight 2000, and no one ever complains
LW3 appears lame or uninviting even sitting next to the classic.

Just my 2 cents worth....

Mike

I had this for 6 years as still is a very good game, alot better than
the getaway and T2, as I sold those.

Had one for about four months, Felt cheap and almost plastic compared
to WMs/Bally games, It's "ok ok ok" for awhile then it gets boring and
time to move it on, It's like a good short term ownership game but
then people move them on to the next guy and so on and so
on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

well, as i always say..it all pends game setup physically and software
wise.

i love mine personally, but its set up hard so it wont become boring too
quick.
the game has SEVERAL (not one) video modes.
5 different video modes for scene completion, one fight video mode, one
"shoot the badguys" video mode, "draw" video mode from shooting outside
spinner loops..for magazine completions

thats 8 different video modes total.

there is also different scoring strategies.

i also have an added powerball in the 3 ball mix, white flipper rubber,
2 fast yellow rubber on each side of ramp entrance, outside rt outlane
post removed., steep pitch, rules set to hard.

that changes the whole ballgame on that title.

i personally love the game and play it over my wpc and stern games quite
often.

the price range is $900- $1300 pending condition. ive rarely seen one
under $1000 unless blown out and not working.

Holy crap!

(*crosses LW3 off his "someday list"*)

I had never understood the pricing on it, but now I guess I do. Video
modes are yucky.

That's exaggerated. The "5 video modes" are actually just the end of
scene videos...they aren't really modes at all, they are short 5-10
second videos that play when you complete a sequence of shots (you pull
the trigger on the gun once during each of those, but that hardly
qualifies each as it's own video mode).

The "draw" video mode is DURING gameplay, you try and shoot the bad guy
on the DMD by pulling the trigger on the gun 6 times while still keeping
the ball in play. Easily the most fun video mode of all time - I
generally don't appreciate video modes at all but this one actually adds
a LOT of value to the gameplay.

The "shoot the badguys" is a "true" video mode. On it's own merits I
rank it the #2 video mode I have played. A bit behind BSD's but well
ahead of JY's. The "fight" video mode is just banging away at the
flipper buttons as fast as you can...it's dull and boring and repetitive
like almost all video modes are, but it's over in about 10 seconds so it
doesn't detract from the game much.

Overall, give LW3 a chance. If set up correctly (STEEP) it's one of the
more underrated titles around.
