Since you went and reported your cash find here on an IRS accessible
public forum, I guess you now need to send in an amended 2010 federal
income tax return to report that $3.00. With tax, interest and
penalties I guess you'll owe Uncle Sam about... oh.... $3.50. The
cost of preparing and sending in that amended 1040 return will be an
additional expense... maybe $100 (depending upon whether or not you
have an accountant prepare that amended return). When you add it all
up, you pretty much got F'ed when you bought that old Bally coin
door. Next time you see the seller be sure to kick him in the
"nads"! If the seller was a woman, well... don't kick her, just
mention to her that what she is wearing sorta makes her look fat. ;-)
