I got a problem with my T2. On the left side of the playfield some lamps
don´t work. All the lamps, which are connected with a violett to
violett-white cable. I checked the function of the lamps and the soldered
joints. I think a transisor has gone. Can anybody tell me the the right
number ( Q ?) and right type (PNP or NPN transistor) buy it. I got no
schematic manual for it ! Thanks for your help ! Markus
Why do you think a transistor has gone out?
Note that the violet-vio/wht GI lamp lines also run to the two lamps on
the coin door in the main cabinet. One problem that many games of this
era have is that the glass lockdown bar latch inside the coin door will
vibrate over to the left, and short out against the lamp socket on the
right coin slot. This will blow a fuse on the driver board in the
backbox.
So first, check the 5 fuses in the lower left corner of the driver board
in backbox.
Secondly, inspect the lockdown bar latch. Insulate it with some heat
shrink tubing or other comparable insulator so that this problem doesn't
happen again.
Hope that helps!

Check the fuses on the lower left of the Driver board in the backbox. There
is a row of
(5) fuses that are exclusively for the General Illumination (GI). If the
connectors
directly to the left of those fuses are brown and crumbly (common) then you
may want to
consider taking the time to completely replace the connectors and resolder
molex pins onto
each wire. It is a time consuming job but it will have to be done
eventually.
New connectors can be bought from The Pinball Resource
(pbres...@idsi.net) and from
Marco Specialties (www.pinballusa.com).
good luck
