Just got back from helping set up at CAX. I took a bunch of "setup"
photos, but my laptop/memory-stick-reader is being tempermental, so
the pics will have to wait till I get home.

Back in the corner is a new contraption from Ken Chaney and TJ Beyer.
It's an Addams Family game, with a yellow arcade bike positioned in
front of it. You climb on the bike to play the game. The flipper
buttons are located on the handlebars. Then, you have to PEDAL the
bike in order to generate power for the flippers!! If you slow down,
your flippers will get weak, or possibly won't work at all!!

But that's not all!!

The game has also been outfitted with additional adornments. We have
a life-sized Uncle Fester creeping over the backbox with a light bulb
in his mouth. The sides of the head now include two "flicker" lamps.
Underneath the playfield there are a few strobe lamps ... and finally,
behind the backbox is a 3 foot tall Jacob's Ladder!!

Of course, you don't get all of that for free. The game knows how
fast you are pedalling. At certain speeds, specific features kick in.
I don't know which ones turn on first, but I know the Jacob's Ladder
is the hardest one to achieve (and sustain!)

Oh yeah, the designers were nice enough to include a fan pointed at
the player ... however, it also will only work as long as you do!
Yup, evil. :-)

Otherwise, the game floor is definately shaping up. Dann Frank is
here with his Pinball Rodeo. There is a really cherry looking
F*nhouse game sitting over in the tournament section. I counted at
least two M*dieval M*dness games, as well as two Kingpin games, and
the usual Big Bang Bar.

Off to bed for now...

That sounds cool Bill. Can you get a video of TAF on your digital camera?

Man, this game is rockin. It's a Prop Cycle attached in front of the
game. Bill mentions the Fester creeps over the backbox; I would say it
is "creepy" too.

Looking forward to playing some Panic Park... Jolly Park...
Cyberball... Mambo a Go-Go... Cosmo Gang... and everyone's favorite,
World Challenge Soccer!

I'd sure like to see some pictures and/or videos of this game! Until
then it sure sounds like an April Fools joke in July.

Thanks Lloyd! I missed Martin's post. Wow - does he ever have a lot
of pictures up! That TAF looks really cool.

I was lucky enough to go to CAX 2005 and wish I could have made it to
2006. Maybe I can make Expo...
