Curious, anyone take the Stern tour last year at Expo? Worth the $50?

I am hoping to get a sneak peak at the Avengers LE - Hulk. Doubtful
they are making an Avengers, especially an LE Hulk version. A guy can
dream can't he?

Anyway, if anyone has attended in the past, I would be curious to hear
you thoughts. Thanks.

If you've never been, then I would recommend going this year. It's
very educational, and if you happen to get one of the tour guides who
can provide you with a lot of good insight and who's able to answer
any questions you or anyone in your group might ask, it can make the
experience even better. I've done the tour too many times to
remember, but I always take away something that I hadn't noticed
before. I, for one, am always fascinated at how effortlessly the
ladies on the assembly lines do their soldering... :-)

Do it at least once,
Jeff

If you like pinball, you will love it.

Very worth it.

Stern people put on a good show.

And the bus trip over and back is worth the cost.

Go for it at least once, if not every year. LTG :)

As others have stated if you haven't been you should go. I had attended
many Expos in the past, skipping the tour as I used to live in the area,
selectively attending the show on one day.

Having moved away I decided to take the tour with last years Expo. I
was amazed at the production technique used to construct Stern pinball
machines.

Stern utilizes construction of the wiring harnesses much in the same way
as complex wiring harnesses were built in the 1930's - by hand. Our
tour guide was a factory engineer, maybe chief engineer and could answer
a multitude of questions. You will see the key to production, the
dimpler machine, the only surviving example that dates back, I believe
to Alvin Gottlieb production.

You will see how the wiring is tested before installation. You will see
playfield assembly as it happens. They had a couple of games in
production or partial production at last years tour time.

It is a very interesting tour. You should go.

I am pretty sure that they won't be building Avengers. They will be
building the TF home versions for Amazon.com orders.

I have taken the tour twice. Both times it was free and I was there to
pick up machines. Just call the sales dept ahead and ask.

I doubt they'll be building the TF "Pin" during the tour since just one
day's production of that title would probably exceed demand.

I'll echo everyone else by saying if you haven't been, definitely go.
I've taken the tour a few times, so at this point I'd rather sleep in.
Or see the factory on a non-Expo day, since I live up the road from it.
