Need some help here people.I have a very old United Steeplechase machine
that I am restoring.I think this is maybe the very first one with the
animated horses underneath the backglass.Circa 1950 give or take a year
or two.I need any kind of a high resolution picture of the
backglass.Trust me whatever you got is better than what I have
(nothing).I know this is pretty rare but if anyone out there has one and
can help me out it will help me save this thing. All the rest of the
restoration is just about done, redone cabinet artwork and all. Thanks

I had a Steeplechase many years back, and traded it off. Not so much
fun, but definitely unique. If you don't have much luck recreating a
glass and maybe would like to trade it off, I have many Ems.

I never, ever give up on an old unique machine. Here is where I am at
right now.No that is not a backglass on there. That is the best picture I
could find on the internet blown up to the correct size and printed out
on cheap paper at the local office depot and sandwiched between 2 pieces
of plexiglass from Menards.Total cost $30.I am working on the graphics
file and will restore it pixel by pixel if I have to.Problem is there
are areas where there is just not enough there for me to even guess what
was there,like the jockeys heads.Just a vague blur.When I get it
acceptable I will either have a translite made or if it's good enough
maybe have it screen printed(I doubt it will be good enough)my next
issue is to clean 60 years worth of cigarette smoke off the playfield
surface. That makes me nervous.Yes that is the correct colors for the
cabinet, that was the color I found underneath when I unbolted things. As
far as I can tell.Hope it's right...

How about this link:

http://ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=2370&picno=11931

Ask Jay at ipdb.org where that image came from, perhaps the original
person still has the glass or a higher resolution image available.
