Well, actually it isn't... But it sound a lot better than Elvis.
Seriously, this is a no-brainer! SpongeBob is one of the most popular
kids shows EVER and is a very good, lighthearted, show that would make
an excellent theme. It seems that young or old, everyone loves
SpongeBob! Sure, there have been suggestions for other cartoon based
themes (like Tom and Jerry and Ren and Stimpy) but SpongeBob is hot,
hot, HOT, right now and will be for some time. It would appeal to all
age groups and would be a guaranteed hot seller.

Other possible cartoon pins:

FAMILY GUY!!!! With Family Guy's popularity white hot and the show
coming back from the dead (the third time now) it would be a great
"adult-esque" pin, like southpark.

Invader Zim: Not a lot of people have seen Invader Zim, but it also
is very popular and would make a perfect pin.

Dexter's Lab! This is also a no brainer, but Dexter's Lab is not as
popular as it once was.

Of course the pin that SHOULD be made from a t.v. show, I won't
mention, because it won't ever be made, because it would be TOO
popular. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more. (If you got the
reference in the last sentence you must agree that it would make an
excellent pin)

Yep, I like spongbob too:) Fun toon to watch with my son.
I grew up on H.R. Pufnstuff and recently introduced that to him. Couldn't
stop him from singing the song for days! But I doubt that H.R. would ever
see a Playfield =P

I have never purchased a NIB pin.

But if Stern made a Family Guy pin, I would be the first in line to order
one.

And I can't even AFFORD a NIB pin.

I'll sell my own plasma about a hundred times.

If someone could be so kind as to pass this sentiment from Joe Little Guy
Pinball Hobbyist, I'd be grateful.

Thank you.

P.S. Three co-workers from my software company day job also have stated they
too, would spend about 4k of their toy money on this pin.

A Stewie Griffin "Damn You All!" Multiball = instant classic. No questions
asked.

Remember, Stern - the Family Guy DVDs weren't expected to sell well - and
ended up being record-setting sellers for Fox.

Though it never quite seemed to gain recognition, Futurama would make a
great pin as well.

C'mon man...
Do you really think SpongeBob would sell better that Elvis.

look at the big picture...
How many bars would want a SpongeBob pin
How much walk-up would a SpongeBob pin get as opposed to Elvis. the
Older folks, with the money, would go to Elvis first, for sure.

SpongeBob MIGHT beat Elvis out in the Home Use area, but that's it.
Gary Stern is no dummy. Elvis will kick ass liek no other theme AS FAR
AS ROI goes...

It's the 50th Anniv of Elvis's first Album. The pins that will be
sent to the Nashville area alone will be astounding.

Every Oldies Radio Station on the planet will want one to give away in
contests.

Even Spencer's Gifts has an Elvis Section... MUCH larger than their
SpongeBob merchandise.

The list goes on. Like it or not, the sales of this theme will keep
pinball going. That's a fact.

Besides... that would be at the top of the list of
MOST...ANNOYING....THEME...EVER! I couldn't listen to that voice for
more than the span of one game.

I don't see either going down well with the pinball audience. I'd love to
see an original theme like FH, CV, MM, AFM, WW etc. Prove there's still pure
old creativity left.

What is "Family Guy"?

Well....just one of the great animation efforts cartered to *only* an adult
audience along the same lines asthe ones below but without the duel audience
like below:

THE SIMPSONS
SOUTHPARK
JUSTICE LEAGUE
SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS
BUGS BUNNY (etc)

Sealab 2021 is also great (sarcastic style like Family Guy) adult animation.
Both are on "Adult Swim" on Cartoon Network after 11PM.

(Guess you've figured out by now that I am an animation fan.....especially
anything from Warner Brothers)

Family guy is absolutely hilarious!

If you are on the west coast and have DishNetwork satelite, you'll get it
at 8 (we get the east coast feed). I think it plays again at 11 pst too.

Occasionally there are episodes that are a bust, so if you watch one and
don't think it's funny, try it one more time...

I would like to see a really good Scooby-Doo Pinball machine from the
classic cartoon series. My kids would go ape over it.

Points:

First, I hate this show- when my sister and parents visit me down here, she
wants to watch it (6th grader... oops, antibiotics make birth control no
workie, apparently).

Second, it is insanely popular, to include big theme areas, etc and
appearances in at least one Universal Orlando ride

Third, I wont buy it, but think it would do good, which is good for the
community

Fourth.... Elvis? maybe I am wrong but c'mon. maybe it will refocus the
games to an older crowd... maybe.

Please, no SpongeBob. That would grow tiresome sooooo fast.

Homestar Runner would make a superb pin theme. Strongbad, The Cheat,
Pom Pom, Homestar Runner, etc... many great characters to use. A big
Strongbad head would be too much fun. Wizard mode could be where you
unleash Trogdor. Unlimited potential for a really good pin.
