(This was from about a year and a half ago...she was 5 or 6 months at
the time)
A couple nights ago I had her standing on a chair in front of me as I
played, and she realized she could finally reach both flipper
buttons. So it was time to play her own game. She started on
Stingray...she loves the fish and the chimes. I had to prompt her a
little, but she pushed the start button, plunged the ball, and hit
both of the flippers all by herself. She was so proud...as was I. By
the time my wife got the camera, she had moved on to High Speed, and
wanted daddy to play Pinbot next to her instead of helping her.
That's my girl!

Yea...she's a double flipping flail-er for now, and sometimes forgets
to pay attention to what she's doing, but cut her some slack...she's
not quite 2. By 3 she'll be taking over my high score spots. :)
Last night we played a little WoF...she loves the bobble-heads. A
game of Pinbot had her opening the visor all by herself! She was
quite unhappy that she couldn't play "Ringmaster" since he's currently
torn apart awaiting new position switches (finally fixing that slight
parking position issue). I showed her where he was under the
playfield, to which she replied "Ringmaster nu-night?". :)
One more proud moment...while playing WoF, she pointed across the room
and clearly said "Star Trek", making it quite clear what she wanted to
play next. That a girl. :)
Okay...I'll stop gushing about my child now. Just thought you guys
might get a kick out of seeing the next generation of pinhead in the
earliest of stages!
Take care,
Chris

She is too cute!

Congratulations, and cherish these moments as she'll grow up fast.
My daughter just became 4. Also likes to play pinball, last summer
when she was playing in the garden
she would go into the gameroom and pull the chair in front of the game
and start herself.
When she was also around 2 she started to play pinball, first on
Safecracker as that's a bit smaller
(and she even was able to get out a few tokens !).
She has her own names for the machines - the castle (MM), the cirqus,
the owl (HH), ..
ciao,
Aeneas.

Awesome pics Chris.... My son turned two in November... Like your
daughter, he has grown up around pinball and loves it.... CV is his
favorite (he loves the ringmaster and the sneaky lock music)... The
frustrating thing for me? He can make the skill shot on WoF 10x as
much as I can (well the first part)..... Enjoy it, I never thought
being a dad could be sooooo much fun (he's my favorite toy)...
Excellent Chris.
I'm glad you are exposing her to more games than just CV (a reputed
"girls game").
There is so much that youngsters can learn from pinball. Just what
they learn about physics by observing the ball action on the playfield
is an important lesson.
Having 3 girls myself, I think it's important for girls to grow up
learning about more than "dolls". Someday she'll turn into a real girl
(makeup, boys, etc) but make the most of the time you spend with her
while you can. I'm sure you already knew that.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! I know I'm very blessed to
have her and cherish every moment with her. She's already growing up
so fast, I'm sure I'll blink and she'll be a teenager.
She does seem to be growing up to be my little engineer. She's
definately not a dolls only girly girl...she plays with them once in a
while, but not much. She seems to prefer Mr Potato Head, blocks, and
other building toys...or reading. For almost a year already the first
thing she does with a new toy is turn it over and try to see how it
works. She always wants to get in the battery cover or take it
apart. I've taken a few of her toys apart to make the quieter (a huge
pet-peeve that most toy companies seem to think our children are
deaf...or want them to be), and she always needs to sit next to me
with her own screwdriver and help. She'll come down while I'm working
on a machine and say "Lily fix" and grab a screwdriver or wrench. So
priceless. Hopefully she'll still be interested once she's old enough
to really help, but for now I'm taking what I can get! :)
LOL Tim! That skill shot is brutal...I'm sure she'll be making it
more than I do any day now! :)
I wish I could get a sneaky lock while she's with me...I'm sure she'd
love that music and animation too! It always cracks me up!
I also completely agree on the favorite toy sentiment...great way to
put it and I may have to steal that one! :)
Take care,
Chris
