Ridley Scott is now working on an Alien prequel and he's
just signed on H.R. Giger to work on the concept.

It's all about execution, but that could make one awesome
looking machine.

Yeah, another great opportunity for a 3D backglass, with
the Alien reaching out its paws at you. I hope that they
let Giger go wild - he's a true artist, and the theme
combines SF, horror and monsters along with a nostalgic
and ongoing movie franchise. Unlike Tron which laid
dormant for decades...

This has been said elsewhere before - but why always have to "tie in"
with some Movie release? I think that choosing a
World Wide Iconic property would sell just as well... as long as it
plays well. Give me, The Avengers (Marvel), Justice League (DC),
Looney Tunes (could you see Wile E. on a rocket, or Elmer on a
Barber's Chair?), the complete Disney Animation Theme .... just
SOMETHING more than
"Hey - there's this movie coming out - let's tie into it". And the
Rolling Stones over the Beatles? Sheesh. Not to highjack the topic.
Just sayin...

Just sayin, I factored in Gary Stern's stated preferences for
themed games and themes in particular. As compelling as other
ideas may be, according to Gary Stern, they will never happen.

Isn't the original Alien movie why we got the Bally Space Invaders? I
thouht I had read that Bally tried to use the Alien TM but could not
secure the rights. This is why we got a Space Invaders pin with a
slightly altered Alien and bad Space Invaders video game inserts.

They could license the Alien franchise from FOX as a whole, or
specifically the Ridley Scott films.
Already proven Stern works well with FOX and James Cameron both.

Yes, Bally "borrowed" the backglass creature from Alien, but
the game is more tightly controlled by Namco, since they use
the Space Invaders videogame glyphs on the playfield. No
reason for any follow-up pinball to follow suit, however.

Space Invaders is Taito, not Namco. Just sayin' :)

Namco has a license for Space Invaders, as they made a
Space Invaders/QIX combo game recently. Don't know if it's
an exclusive license - can't say... But you're right-
it started out with Taito in 1978. Looks like Space Invaders
has spawned many versions other than the Pinball and
arcade game:

So the first public teaser was on December 19th.

I have to respect Jack from Christmas 2009 when he suggested going to
Costco before him as Stern cut his throat and sold games cheaper to
them. Pretty shitty treatment by Stern to a guy that did his best to
sell and support games to home buyers.

Yes, the Costco games would noyt come with the extended warranty. But
a portion of us just want the games a cheap as possible since Stern
raised prices and took away bells & whistles.

Not unique to stern. An industry manufacturer standard has always been " You
do for us, we will never do for you ". LTG :)
