I just can't bring myself to throw away those old, used up pinballs.
I need more ideas for using them in projects for the gameroom.

Post your pictures and ideas for using old pinballs.

Here are some I've come up with so far (with varying degrees of
success ;-)

I save up a whole bunch of them and wait until dark, grab my Wrist
Rocket and head down to one of local Freeways and shoot at all the
Foreign made cars. I live in Detroit, we hate the Rice burners and
those Nazi footlockers. When in Detroit you Drive American. Or Drive
at your own peril, ! ! !

I've seen someone make frames out of old pinballs. Used them to frame
translites, I think he migh of even had them backlite, looked pretty
cool not sure if I have the image, but nice idea for those old
pinballs.

White Elephant Gift. I wrapped up a tube of used pinballs for our
neighborhood white elephant gift exchange. It was the most popular
"wrapped gift" because of the weight. It has been 3 years, and the
pinballs continue to show up to be recycled at the party in different
boxes etc to hide what they are.

Knew an old-school Harley rider that carried a few in his
jacket while he was riding. They were launched at any cars
that (according to his rules) encroached on his space.

He used to put his inspection sticker on the underside
of the rear end swingarm, so when the cops would pull
him over (which was often), they would have to grovel
on the ground to see the sticker. Nice guy...

Fill in an Old Gumball machine.
Looks fantastic!

Best to use kind with a plastic clear globe, glass breaks at about 50
pinballs inside. (yes, been there, done that!)

That can end up being a lot of weight for the glass to support very
quickly as glass size increases, and top heavy if on a stand.
You might try putting an empty soup can, vegi can, paint can, whatever
size fits best, upside down in the middle to reduce the number of
pinballs needed.
I've heard of people gluing the pinballs together just along the glass
surface, with some light filler material in the middle, finished with
more loose balls on top.

Wal-Mart sells a gumball machine with a clear plastic globe, the plastic
is pretty thick too. I did the glass gumball once.....keyword: ONCE!

I think when it got to about 20 balls, a large crack was heard and that
was the end of that!

Be careful nonetheless!!

Wouldn't you need to drill precisely through the middle of each one for
a newtons cradle ?? All that work to see some balls clang together is
probably the reason it has not been brought up..

I throw mine in the vibratory polisher, have not had to buy new balls
for the last 6 months.
