Ok, so I was upgrading from regular to gold ROMs...my nephew was distracting me (I know...dumb) and I pulled the microprocessor (U8) instead of the game ROM - didn't think this was a huge deal, just would re-insert. Well, when the chip came out, I noticed the first brace on the plastic holder had cracked. I put the chip back in, put the new ROMs in and tried starting...nothing. I hear it "pop" on, but the dmd doesn't start, no sound, no GI, nothing. I tried putting the original ROMs back in and the same result happens. Few things I noticed:

- the microprocessor is hot to the touch (not sure if that is normal)
- LEDs d19 and d21 are lit. D20 is out (no blink or anything)
- whoever had the machine in the past had replaced the mpu board with a rottendog WPC95...I know TAF should use WPC89,issue?

Should I grab a new WPC89 and microprocessor to replace?

Please advise.

Are you sure the MPU is a WPC-95? I don't know how that can work since
the security chip on that MPU is integral to operation, and TAF
software won't know anything about it.

Are you sure that you replaced the processor with the notch oriented
correctly?

That is what it says on the rottendog board, seems weird to me as well...

Yeah - notches look fine...would these be symptoms of a damaged/bad microprocessor?
