Hi all,

For those who did not get any notifications via other channels: the first issue of Pinball Magazine is printed and about to ship. The magazine counts 112 full color glossy pages and has the most complete interview with Roger Sharpe ever. The interview is over 56 pages, not counting pages with photos only or contributions from the 'Others about Roger' feature (which has contributions from Larry DeMar, Steve Epstein, Dennis Nordman, Greg Freres, Josh and Zach Sharpe, Mark Ritchie, Dan Loosen and others). The magazine also includes articles on Pacific Pinball Museum, IFPA, Pinside.com, Game Plan collector Jeremy Fleitz and more.

The magazine was launched the previous weekend at the UK Pinball Party and received many compliments. Basically the word 'magazine' puts everybody on the wrong foot. It's thick, it's heavy, it's quality, it's well written and it's about pinball. Many were surprised to see how good the magazine turned out. But don't take my word for it, see the reactions I posted on www(dot)pinball-magazine(dot)com.

If you're interested in the magazine and you did not pre-order yet, this is your last chance to be in the first batch.

If the postal costs keep you from ordering: the magazines will ship with a different company that has lower rates. The rates will be fixed in the webshop as soon as the new rates are confirmed. Those who pre-ordered will receive a refund of overpaid postal costs.

Cheers,

Jonathan Joosten

Neat! I'm in for one.

But why didn't you just give a proper link? Web addresses cannot get
spammed like email addresses.

Here, I'll do it for you: http://www.pinball-magazine.com

Checkout could have been more user friendly. Kind of a PIA, as I
couldn't find the email address entry right off. But consider me a
purchaser!

Very cool! Thanks you for the offer of a refund for the postal
difference. I was taken aback by the cost of shipping but ordered
anyway.

Can't wait for it to arrive....

Will you start shipping Tuesday? I know Monday is a Holiday in the UK.

Actually the Magazine is shipped from The Netherlands. It gets shipped Monday as we don't have a Holiday the 27 (just my father's birthday) and is taken first to Frankfurt - Germany for further distribution.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll have someone take a look at it. Hope it can be solved easily.

Very glad and pleasantly surprised to hear of a new pinball magazine
getting started. Signed up to get a copy of edition 1 and it looks
quite good to me!

Order placed for Scotland.

How often do you plan to publish?
Quarterly at a minimum, I hope.

Hi Tom,

It took quite some time to get issue one together. At the moment I'd say 2 or 3 a year is more likely.

Thanks,

Looks fantastic - much more than just a standard magazine!

I've now purchased my copy and I'm looking forward to reading it.
Thanks!

How about making a PW protected PDF that you can print on your own
glossy paper at home and save the shipment/eco footprint thing along
with a price of about 2-3 dollars instead of 8 shipped.

Yeah, then the greedy pinball public prints out 100 of them and sells
them for $10 a piece on ebay/Expo/etc.

So, I click on the link that Don Q gave us and begin thumbing my way down the pages. There's a photo of Hurdy Gurdy in the interview with Roger Sharpe. I thought to myself, man that game looks familiar, but didn't think much else about it. Later. I'm working my way back to the top and see the photo again. Now it has me. I go to IPDB and see the same photo. It's a photo posted by one of my pinball buddies of MY HURDY GURDY! Woo Hoo!

So do I get a free copy of the mag?

uh, that's called copyright infringement unless your friend game them
the picture for use. You could get a lot more than a free copy of the
magazine.
