Can't hit refresh, back or "start a new topic" without the damn thing crashing. Can't search without the page reverting back to the lastest, most recent threads ALWAYS. What an absolute piece of floating poop.

Revert back to the old GG, and express your opinion when they ask why
the new GG sucks.

Or, wait for the resident troll to chime in ad nauseum about the
benefits of using a newsreader with Usenet, blah, blah, blah, yadda,
yadda, yadda. ;)

How do you revert back, the option doesn't appear anymore.

Looks like they finally borked it for good..

Used to be able to set new as default then go back to old.. now it appears to be no long an option. Oh well.

I hate the new set up also. Just log out, then it asks if you want to
revert back to the old set up. Then log back in. Seems to work for me

Are you guys using the Google Chrome web browser? If you can't revert back to the old style I would suggest downloading it. You can also save your bookmarks in Google Chrome to be accessed on any device.

Those miserable SOBs took the option away. I can browse the old GG, when I'm not logged in. As soon as I log in, it goes to this new POS!!!

Just went to the help section, and this popped up,

"The new Google Groups is faster, more powerful, and just plain cool. Get started now with our guide to the new Groups."

It's just plain cool. Yep, that's what I was looking. Cool, not something that functions better. Has our govt taken over Google now too? :)

If Google == Ass, then User.stupid

Got news clown posse, stop using what is fucked up and start using the
25 year old technology (USENET news groups) which were design to be self
regulated, open and for the public to share information. Not some HTTP
or shit server and marketing in the middle to get in the way of the free
flow of information (coming to mind, Genie, AOL, and of course
Crapshitserve). BBSs also come to mind, if they moderated and limited
free speech/expressions. Fuck the system, fuck the guys that want to
advertise and profile you to death, and anonymize your ass so you can at
least believe you have something called freedom of thought and
expression. Live in the dream, the make believe, push the 'limits' man.
:) Peace out, if you dare.

Repeat this BASIC-like mantra...

Step 1. Admit you are a bozo, loser, and most of all uninformed.
Step 2. Understand USENET news groups and servers.
Step 3. Get an account on a Free USENET news group server.
Step 4. Get a Free Mail/News reader.
Step 5. If not understood, goto Step 1.

With love, bra.

Try this direct link, it still works (gives the OLD groups) for me:
http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.pinball/topics?hl=en

I don't usually use GG any more, but if you are using the new groups, be
sure to check out the keyboard shortcuts:
a.. The NEW Google Groups supports keyboard shortcuts, shift+j = Next Topic,
shift+n = Next Post. See Settings -> Keyboard Shortcuts for a complete list.

Nope. that link still takes me to the new GG. Luckily I can still use the old GG at home, but at work it looks like it's no more. :(

Same for me. It's gone regardless of what link I go to, unless I log out. I'm actually getting used to the new groups. The only thing I don't like is that you can't see who that last person was who posted to a thread. There are a couple of people I have in my "mental kill file", which I really don't care to read their incoherent, rambling diatribes anymore.

Hmm weird. I didn't do a thing but log out for a bit and now I'm back
to the old GG.

Look for the little GEAR icon, it's there on any device you use to
view the groups. Find it and you can revert back to old school style.

It used to give me the option under the gear (settings), but it's gone now. I'm adjusting. It's not that bad, and it does have some better features that the old GG didn't. Like I stated before, the only thing I miss is seeing who posted last on a thread. I'll get over it though.

Might be a Win7 thing Jim...at work I still have XP AND Win7. The XP
machine I can still "revert back", but I don't see the option when on
Win7. Through both Chrome and IE...

I'm still using Vista HP on my Lap-Top & the old GGs still works fine
even after logging in & out,
Gott-Lieb had it right on his 1st reply about telling them what you do
not like ( If it is not broke, Don't fix it ) was my reply, I'm still
knocking on wood here as my Home PC is running Win 7 .

When I try to refresh a page on this PC I have to do it twice though .

It doesn't revert in Linux. Running FF with both W7 and Linux.

On an unrelated note, FF has been screwing up a fair amount for me lately. Does anyone have a suggestion for a browser other than IE or Chrome?

SeaMonkey, and get free USENET news with Eternal-September.org (or
something like it), and get with USENET news as it used to be, should
be, and will always be... self moderated, distributed world wide, and
knowledge based as well as shit filled. its what it is, and that is
life, get used to it filters or not.

Google has been fucking up a great thing (USENET News) long before GG
was 'good', and right before Deja News was incepted. USENET News should
be free of a domination like GG, like DN, and it is meant and does
continue to be backed up with the original intercepted design and
distribution. Some would like that to go away, Google tried and has
failed. Google == Evil, they do it all the time.
