Anyone take two rubber rings and make one bigger one out of it?

Just wondering if anyone has done this with success. I am fixing up a 1933 electric dicer game and it needs a pulley belt. Just to see it work, I wanted to try a pinball rubber ring, but the largest I have (5 1/2 inches) is too tight. So I was thinking about just taking two 3 inch ones, cutting and melting them together.
Before I waste my time doing that and destroy two good rubbers, I just wondered if anyone has tried that?
I think I know where I can order a proper belt via mail. I just wanted to see the little machine working and verify the size ...

They melt? I've seen them stapled and safety-pinned together, but
never melted :)
But if you want to see if your idea works and you don't want to waste
two rubbers, just cut one and melt it back together :)
More seriously, could you heat one up and stretch it enough?

go to a hydrolics place , buy a o ring they come in ALL sizes..
really place that fixes hydrolics or look on line I have one
local here use the same for belts too

I've used super glue to put 2 ends of rubber together.

flat as you can so the glue has as flat a surface to bond to as it can.
Obviously watch out for gluing your fingers to the rubber...
I have NOS 6" rubber rings, but they are not the modern white, more of a
off-white 70s colour. They are in good condition by the way, sealed in
plastic bags all these years...

If the rings are actually made out of neoprene versus gum rubber, a
razor blade and super glue will work as others have mentioned. We
used to do this to make specific o-rings sizes which did not commonly
exist.

Superglue does the job very well (get good quality glue of course).
I've seen someone glue two pieces of bungee cord rubber together with
superglue then hang from it (as a test). It was quite impressive, he
cut the rubber cord in half, added a tiny dot of glue and put the pieces
back together, then a couple of seconds later put his full weight on it
and it held!

in mid air" I still wouldn't trust it with that kind of weight load
though the stuff does work great for gluing fingers together :)

Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions. I super-glued 3 inch and 3.5 inch rings together today. Attaching the pieces was trivial. Getting the glue to flow from the tube was the hard part. I eventually had to use a 1/16th drill bit in my drill to get it flowing again.
The belt worked in the dicer ok. Not sure if it will hold long term but it was great to see it running today.
It was good to be successful gluing something. I had been in a "gluing slump" for quite a while. Everything I had tried to glue had failed, except gluing my fingers together, which I did not count as a "victory".
