My Demolition Man cryo claw works perfectly in test, but refuses to
move left during gameplay. The elevator lifts the ball to the magnet,
the magnet picks it up, and then it either freezes or moves just a
fraction of an inch to the left, then freezes.

The left trigger switch is working fine. The opto in the elevator is
working. I don't know where I should look next. Any help would be
greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I had exactly the same problem.

The solution was to clean the optos at the base of the cryoclaw next to the
motor.
Just run a clean cloth between the Tx and Rx. Also check the connectors for
the cryoclaw, unplug and replug then to clean the contacts.

Doing this fixed the problem on my game. I'm fairly sure it was the optos
at fault but better do the connectors too. :-)

Hope this helps.

hello i am pretty sure that you have dirty optos these are the ones on the
seperate opto panel under the cryo claw itself (the opto board i think from
memory is mounted on the claw itself under the claw motor they are the horeshoe
type optos so you will really need to get into them to clean them properly

Thanks to both of you... That was exactly what was wrong. I cleaned
the optos, and now the claw is functioning perfectly.

Thanks again!
