I was having an awesome game on my first ball I had Lighcycle, Quorra,
Clu,
and Gem all going at the same time. I had Lightcycle, Quorra, and Gem
lit solid,
had Clu down to 1 shot and drained down to 1 ball figured I could finish
Clu
pretty easy then multiball never ended. I hit my Clu shot and ended up
draining
my last ball only to find that it didn't end my turn. I waited and it
did 3 ball
searches without finding it. So I turned it off and opened it up and
found only 3
balls in the trough and the 4th is nowhere to be found. I lifted the
playfield up
and looked all around never could find it. I ended up having to get
another ball
to put in it. I don't know where else to look so I guess the machine had
to eat it!

Look closely to see if it snuck under a rubber band somewhere and is
hiding under a plastic. I though the same thing happened to me once
and it turned out to be on the backside of the sling, got under the
rubber somehow.

Crazy.

Try looking under the sling shot plastics. I've had balls get behind
the rubber rings and lodge under playfield plastics before.

Ouch...I hate when this happens.

When I got my first run Spidey from the original home owner, it only
had 3 balls. Because it had prehistoric software, the game (and the
owner) didn't notice a ball was missing. When I briefly test played it
(it was minty) at his house, everything seemed normal. Got it home and
noticed one missing. It was way up in the top right corner of the
playfield hidden under the right ramp return. If you saw it there, you
would say it's impossible to get a ball stuck there. Welp, somebody
did. Think I fished it out with a magnet tool.

You'll find it. They find ways to get into places they really
shouldn't be. It may or may not require tools to extract said ball,
but you'll find it.

The score's no good anyhow. Nice try at putting your name up in
lights. These games can be so frustrating can't they?

Look under the apron, this is where it was on my Elvis.

Take the glass off and use a small flashlight to search the playfield.
The light helps not only to see but also compels you to make a more
systematic search. Really get your head down into the playfield. You'll
eventually find it -- three inches from you nose!

Look under the apron.

I had a similar thing happen on my Elvis. Looked high and low and
couldn't find it anywhere. Don't know how it got lodged under the apron
during gameplay but it did.

Pretty common with Elvis, when I couldn't find it I called the pindoc
after looking everywhere and he knew right where it was, he had seen it
a couple times.

LOL yeah I figure I'll find it when I give it a good cleaning so I'm not
really worried about it I just thought it was funny that it disappeared
like that.

+1 for having lost a ball under a sling.

I was playing my TNG and the ball appeared to vanish before my eyes it
happened so fast.

If it was during multiball, I would not have had a clue where to start
looking :).

Good luck in your hunt!

Actually I kinda forgot about it and haven't looked for it since. Maybe
I'll do that sometime this weekend. Thanks for the reminder
