Working on a Bally EM and have a problem that is driving me crazy. If
you play a 1 player game, all is well.

On a multiplayer game, the ball count always increments before and after
the last player. For example, on a 4 player game, the ball count will
increment before the 4th player plays and also again after the 4th
player plays. Oddly enough, same thing happens on a 3 player game, ie,
the ball count will increment before and after the 3rd players turn.

I have been through the ball count, player and coin steppers and they
move as they should, cleaned the contacts and fingers and centered the
buttons on a bakelite disk. It sure seems like the fingers are off by a
button but I am not seeing it.

Can someone explain how the game prevents the ball count stepper coil
from firing between players on a multi player game?

Thanks,

John

Thanks. I figured it out. It was a switch on the score motor never
opening and it appears it was registering as the player unit was
advancing before it got to position.

Did you see it visually or did you find it on a schematic?
