I know everybody's responsible for their own life but this just
reinforces to me what a prick Bobby Brown is. At one time she was this
incredibly beautiful, naturally gifted singer with a huge range, and
power all the way from the bottom of it to the top of it, one of the
greatest of all time....
and then she met Bobby Brown.

Such a shame.
You have to remember she had choices to make and made several really
bad ones. It's hard to feel too sorry for someone who does this but
the shame of it is you have to recognize the tallent she had.
Is it me and I missed it or did they fail to mention Etta James in the

Horseshit. Just another junkie that happen to have money. So people
act like it's this huge loss. If it was joe the Taxi driver with the
same drug problem, nobody would give a shit. She had more options
not to let her life go to shit, and choose the later. Which makes it
even worse, i'd think. When broke taxi drivers life goes to shit, has
less options to escape. She only has herself to blame, and it's not a
shame. it's expected and should have probably happened sooner, for the

If you haven't noticed, collectively, we tend to idolize famous
people. Don't get me started on sports figures. (Heroes in my book
are soldiers, firemen, policemen, surgeons - people who make a direct
positive impact on lives, that you rarely ever hear about). She was
born with a God-given voice, made lots of money with it, and died a
sad death. The story here is - money wasn't an escape, and perhaps
was an enabler. She had an area of her life that was weak, hence she
was human. At least she didn't die a drunk driver, taking someone
with her, like so many do every year.

2006, playing 5 feet in front of me both times.

pinnacle of his promise, when he died in London in 1970. It was
claimed that he had taken a whole bunch of his girlfriend's
prescription sleeping pills for which the normal dose was a half a
tablet. Autopsy found very little alcohol in his system. The fact of
the matter is Jimi, like Whitney, had literally already started taking
a dive and lost a lot of altitude before he finally crashed. What a
pity, I used to dig his music before it was cool to do so, that is,
when he wasn't so rich and corrupt yet, and when he still spelled his
name with two m's.
