I have a GnR pinball for sale. It's in fantastic condition inside and
out.
Re-import Japan 110V model so no mods were ever done to it. VERY
CLEAN and low use.
With shaker motor. There is no code support for this but Japan models
had shakers installed from factory.

The story behind this is it was in Japan for about 2 years, then re-
imported back to the states and Al from Pinball Warehouse in MN got it
and sold to a home customer. It was in his home for many years untill
I bought it from him about 2 1/2 years ago.

The game has never encountered any electrical problems. All boards are
clean and no hacks.
Magnets work perfectly and never had an issue. In the years I have
owned it I have never had to replace a fuse so everything is working
perfect with no strange or erratic issues.

I won't "number" rate the condition as everyone has different tiers of
rating. The lower cab is super nice with no scrapes or issues. Head
left is near perfect, head right shows a few chips that are in the
black so it's an easy touch up. Everything is as original and nothing
is modified.

Translite perfect. DMD is perfect with no burn or outgassing.
All plastics are perfect with the exception of the Axel plastic
cracked of which a NOS one is included and the starburst plastic below
it has a small crack that you can't even see.
Have original Japan ROMS(included) and new USA ROMS (installed).
Manual/paperwork inclued.
Just finished cleaning and shopping it with new rubber, has maybe 10
plays on it.

A truely VERY NICE orginal machine that's hard to find in this
condition.

Originally $3800 on MR Pinball. RGP price $3600. I can arrange
shipping and don't charge for pallet, bubblewrap and prep work. I have
had real good interest in this with a few 2nd emails to buyers but
nothing set in stone.

Iron Man. :)
( I wouldn't do it, Jason has about the nicest GNR you'll ever see and near
impossible to replace. Get the IM later when they are cheaper and keep the
GNR )

I thought the GNR's from Japan had the volume control and headphone
jacks?

nope, it's a dead feature and no programing for it.

It came with Japan ROMS. I have both sets.

Throw them in the game and see if the shaker motor works or there's a
new setting to enable the shaker. Unless the shaker looks NOS,
something made it work and you have the long lost key to getting a
shaker working in a GnR.

Now you sparked my curiosity. Look at this pic. Notice the one fuse
holder ???

I will check into this and report back.

those other ones look kinda rusty too. Doesn't mean, the shaker is
supported. It was thrown in there just to abide by the number of
coils needed for customs. Don't know if they would update software
just for that.

Orin Day says that it worked with a menu option.

Try it before you sell it. It probably would increase the price
somewhat. And then burn me a copy of the Japanese roms for helping you
out ;)

Well I just got word back from Lonnie and he says it's already in the
code for USA and Japan both.

Since my game is already wired and has everything there it should be
good he tells me.
I am going to pull that small shaker board out and repair that fuse
clip and check it tonight.
Really always thought it was never operational and a dead feature so I
never looked into it. Just noticed that bad fuse clip today in the
picture.
Gonna dig into it tonight. Cool thing GnR has shaker
capibilities ;-))
Again I will confirm operation tonight and post.

If no takers on it, I am posting to ebay.

Jason.

Interesting. I know there's no shaker support menu item in the US
code.

will be cool to see how it works

Well I can't find a shaker option in the menu. I tried both my Japan
and USA ROM.
I found option #50 as prototype game and all that does is change some
insert lights so that's not right.
Anyone else have an idea. I even tried coil test and it cycled all
through and no shaker option.
This game is wired and looks to work but I can't seem to see how.

I went through this whole senario with my German re-import game. It
seem no one involved is 100% clear on how it all went down, shaker-
wise. I tryed hooking up a shaker motor to my game with various
different ROMs installed and hit the same wall this R&D string is
hitting. Sure would be nice to crack the "code" someday.

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd chip in anyway. The shaker does in fact work for the gnr US v3 rom when set up using these instructions:

1.NEW CABLE IN BACKBOX from CPU CN12:9 to PPBJ8:11
2.RELOCATE KNOCKER DRIVE CABLE in backbox to PPB:J8:12(solenoid drive 16)and the cab end to shaker board J1 pins 6 and 7 on mine this was VIOL/GREY
3.The shaker board needs 9vac.I took this from the flipper board in the cabinet.
FLIPPER BOARD CN2:9 to shaker board J1:4 and 5
FLIPPER BOARD CN2:10 to shaker board J1:1 and 2
4.Obviously the shaker positive goes to shaker board J2:3 and 5 and negative to J2:1 and 2

As I said previously I used a checkpoint driver and shaker

From user poibug on this site:
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/guns-n-roses-mods

The changes I made were to run a new lead from PPB:J8:12 to shaker board J1 pin 6 so as to keep the knocker, and had to get 9vac from pins 4 and 10 on the flipper board to go to j1 pins 1 and 4 on the motor driver board. Some of the pin numbers on the PPB and CPU were also incorrect in these instructions, as he has counted the marker pins whereas my ppb and cpu boards did not.

When the pop bumpers are hit
When you launch a ball
when you hit a ramp
Axl hole eject

I got RIOT with the shaker installed the other day, went nuts!
