Subject: How do you stop cabinet flaking?
Hi,

Picked up a '68 Gottlieb Domino and the cabinet paint isn't too bad,
but it's starting to flake in some spots.  I'd like to stop it from
flaking any further.  Any suggestions on what I can use?  Ideally I'd
like to not notice a glossy coat of something on top if possible

Thanks for any info,

Mike

I use Varathane Crystal Clear Waterborne Diamond Wood
Finish. Looks like the original finish when dry. You only need to use a
light coat if you want. It should lock in the paint. Unfortunately they
just changed the name and I cant remember the new one. You can look for
the product number of 20081 on the can.

Is this a spray can product (I hope)?

Thanks for the info!

Looks like spray is available:
http://www.varathane.com/product.asp?frm_product_id=663&SBL=1

I've seen Varathane products at both McClendons and Fred Meyer but
wasn't looking for this specific item. You know which one to check
first :)

It comes in spray can, quarts and gallons. I can find it at Menards. Get
the indoor stuff as the outdoor will yellow over time.
