I'm learning quickly that buying and selling without the help of the community and friends is dangerous! lots of people out there to take advantage of the average guy. that's why I'm looking here for opinions!

looking for a TAF that's playable but in need of work for around the $4k mark. am I in dreamland? I have seen them in the 5k mark sometimes...I actually do want to do work on it and make it a keeper.

any thoughts?

Spend the 5K on an education for your kid/s, it will go a lot longer in
bringing you a lifetime of satisfaction and enjoyment. :)

No, thats a reasonable price for TAF. Even though its a great game
(and considered A list), there are enough of them to keep the prices
from AFM and MB levels

Ebay has one for about 3500 right now....craigslist has them often...and you
should be able to find one playable but not perfect in the $3000- $4000.

I sold mine fully restored 3 years ago for 4k, man how the times have
changed. I found one for a guy a few months ago in good shape for
2500. They are out there, fewer and far between than they used to be,
but keep posting a want ad looking for one and you're sure to find one
that's a reasonable price in good condition.

I recently sold an Addams with a beat cabinet and playfield, trashed

game. I asked and got 2k for it. So, yeah, I'd say there is a chance.

One just popped up and sold quickly here in Phoenix today for $3500. It
was in half way decent shape as far as I could tell.

Good deal - where was it advertised?

Somewhat related, anyone know who got the $500 one in Austin?

How is it I live in Austin and never see these deals?
The one today was on the DFW pinball mailing list. It's rough, but if
you're doing decals, playfield and plastics anyway, why pay for
something you're going to replace anyway?

We've got a TAF with a full set of cliffys and bookcase decals for $3750. Pre cliffy pics at:

Happy to send you hi-res photos. Was at the Ohio pinball show, where someone knocked a little rubber off a post into thing's box, and caused all sorts of trouble. Anywho, if you're interested, give us a call at (two-one-six)-361-5800, or e-mail at cadillacmusic3950 (at) gmail.com.

I think for $4k you should get one in fairly decent shape. I bought one
about 4 months ago for $4500 that is in really nice shape. Think I
overpaid as it was the first game I bought, so I didn't really know what
they should cost.

Just be patient and check everywhere you can. Avoid the stealers...er
dealers unless you like to pay $3000 above market price - especially if
you want to do the work yourself. It took me 4 months to find a TZ in
my price range, but finally found one in really great shape for $4800.

The reasonable prices are there, just avoid ebay and the stealers!

I have a project TAF I'd sell for 2500. I'm in the Nashville area. I don't ship though and I'm not sure where you're located.

You should be able to find a working players machine for around the 3k
range. for 4k it better be fairly nice and 100% complete.
Personally, I would spend 3k for something that maybe needs to be
cleaned up need a couple of things, and use the remaining 1k to
restore what needs to be restored. Take your time, don't jump on the
first deal that shows up. Deals are out there, you just have to be
willing to wait.
