For real? These are the Top ten rated Ems? I find it hard to believe
that Gigi is a better game then: Capt Fantastic, Wizard, and Space
Odyssey. And Wild Wild West? Come on! Joker Poker and Fireball are
the only two legits on this list. What about Fire Queen, Grand Prix,
Bally Hi Deal, or even Williams A go-go?

— Top 10 Player Rated EM Games —

#1 World Fair (Gottlieb,1964)
#2 North Star (Gottlieb,1964)

#5 Diamond Jack (Gottlieb,1967)
#6 Wild Wild West (Gottlieb,1969)
#7 Central Park (Gottlieb,1966)

If you disagree, go ahead and vote up your faves and enter bogus
ratings for games you want to push down; everyone else has.

It works even better on the EM side than the SS/DMD side since there
are so many fewer votes, whereby each vote counts for more.

I still say they ought to toss votes too far outside a normal bell
curve; the abuse is blatantly obvious.

Diamond Jack SO belongs there, though. Used to be #1.

I wouldn't take too much stock in the rankings. The rankings are just
the top 10 machines WRT their averaged rating scores. There have been
a few posters who have contrived to "rig" the rankings over the last
couple years. It was especially evident that some popular machines
with a "relatively small number" of ranking scores suddenly received
ridiculously low ratings (2 or 3) from a new contributor or two
(often with no comments written, but not always). With a small sample
size, the handful of low scores were enough to sink the game
completely off the list while other machines rose out o the depths to
take their places.

Bruce Moyer posted a commentary on these hooligans and not too long
after, his posts all disappeared. I'm not sure whether Bruce
retracted his ratings out of disgust or whether some foul e-play
occurred.

Glad you hear the support for SPACE ODYSSEY! My first pin!

this is the way it usually goes. Stuff like this is rigged, by
someone who has a couple to sell.

I miss Bruce Moyer's reviews. His gameplay opinions were obviously
skewed by violent or racy themes an fits of nostalgia but entertaining
nonetheless. A curse on those who erased his 800-900 reviews (which
takes considerable effort and dedication). Assuming that Bruce didn't
pull them down himself which would be his prerogative.

I would like to see the obvious rating offenders removed.

I really like that site but agree that the ratings are all over the
place and should be taken with a huge grain of salt. When I bought my
CV I went to read some reviews and remember it being a 'top 5' pin.
Now it's maybe top 20. When anyone can go put a 2.0 rating on a pin
without even having to explain why it makes the ratings slightly less
of a useful tool. I mean I get it...CV is 'gay' and some people hate
it, but in the entire subset of pinball from the beginning of SS pins
I don't think it's fair to say that ANY late Bally/Williams is a
freakin' 2.0 :) Especially since I believe one guy slammed it but
LOVED ToTAN...ToTAN is in the LOVE category but CV is a 2.0???????

Besides...at one point you could throw a blanket over the top 3-10 and
all of them seemed tied at like 8.2 or so and I could never see any
rhyme or reason to why one was higher than the other (individual
category ratings didn't seem to matter).

But yeah on the EM side one rating could sink a pin so I imagine it's
even worse over there.

My understanding from IPDB is that Bruce pulled all of his game
reviews. I assume in protest of what he felt was an inaccurate
ratings system. This is too bad as not only did he have many good
comments and insights to provide, but also because his was often the
only review available on many of the rarer and/or older games.

What?! EVERYONE knows that the top 10 EM pinball games are:

1. 1962 Wms King Pin
2. 1977 Gtlb Lucky Hand
3. 1971 Gtlb Dimension
4. 1975 Gtlb Gold Strike
5. 1974 Gtlb Pin-Up
6. 1975 Gtlb Quick Draw
7. 1974 Gtlb Captain Card
8. 1964 Gtlb Majorettes
9. 1963 Gtlb Gigi
10. 1977 Gtlb Centigrade 37

Please feel free to restore these to their rightful place in IDPB's
Top 10 list by submitting the appropriate reviews. As is attributed
to my hometown of Chicago: "Vote early and vote often".

Think of it this way: if you completely agreed with the list, you
would be redundant and unnecessary.
