For those of you who have used both....that eliminates Todd Dick
Nathan...what is your take on one vs the other in terms if quality,
clarity?

Thanks

I have both and my opinion is to buy which ever is less expensive and
available. I can't tell any noticeable difference between the two from
a performance perspective. The reflections in Invisiglass have a more
bluish/purple hue to them vs. PDI glass, that is the main difference I
can see.

I also have both, and I agree with stangbat that they are essentially the same in terms of performance.

Have yet to see an objective photo comparison. Would be sweet if
someone could put camera on tripod and shoot a machine with one, swap
glass and shoot the other. That would be good way to capture iany
difference. I am wondering.if invisiglass has more glare. Anyone up
for a science experiment to settle this?

Neither, they both suck for the price. They say they eliminate glare,
which they do somewhat, but if your gameroom is well lit, you'll get
glare all over the place. It's nowhere near the money. I thought it
would be better than it is. For the money, I shouldn't see anything.
YOu can still see the DMD, background lights and backbox glare.

Whatever Neo. I only have two pins with regular glass left. When I get
around to it, PDI glass on those also! Glass is a must have...pay no
attention to the cheapskates! Expensive? Yep. Worth it? Yep.

Neo, come on, there is a L O N G list of stuff that isn't "worth it"
around here, from a $22,000 Mermaid all the way down to a $1 colored
Cliffy post, or a VCR cassette-sized flat rate priority box from PBR
with $100 "worth" of parts in it.

Besides "love", "Worth it" is probably the most personally and
situationally subjective and undefineable term in the world.

A LOT of people think that the glass is worth it. I wrote to Jack and
he told me that he had to order 800 sheets to meet the demands of the
one-day "sale" he ran a few months ago. If the average guy bought 2
sheets, that's 400 people that think it's worth it. And PDI sells the
stuff as fast as the boat can get here.

I know you don't think a $12,000 MM is worth it either, but, spending
$200 for a sheet of Invisiglass is the equivalent of buying a HALF a
rubber kit for a $500 EM! It's 1.6% of the MM's "worth". BFD, and I
am cheap. Plus, it is the only "mod" that is 100% portable, game to
game to game, and it is probably the most popular mod, because you
NEVER see a game sold with it.

You can't take it with you!

I have two sheets of this shit, and it wasn't worth it. For the price,
it better block it out 100%. It does not. If it was $60 a sheet, then
yea.....double the price of a normal sheet of glass for a 67% reduction
in glare, sure...that's about right. Not for 500% price increase. If
your paying full price it's not worth it. I paid half price and I still
don't think it's worth it.

WrongCrowd's DMD glare guards work great for me, less than 20 bucks. I
haven't played a pin with PDI glass, for the same reason I don't
test-drive the latest model of my 2006 4-runner. I'm afraid I'd want
it...

I also have glare guards on all my pins. CV, O1 wasn't possible to do
it. So used the special glass on that. Same with JP, because the damn
backbox has so much white in it, that even with only 5 bulbs in the
entire backglass, it still reflects a ton. Helps, but doesn't
eliminate.

I take some pics of two TFTC pins one with Invisiglass and one without
even outside to show the difference and side by side off against the
wall. Look for the older thread.

Don't bother with either. Expensive, so just turn out the lights or on
very low levels unreflected. Want to save money, just do some lighting
design in your 'game room'.

Yea saw that but I am looking for an inside comparison which would be
more typical to real game room experience. And one pic showing pdi and
one with invisiglass.

On the side debate started as to whether it's even worth it, I was on
the 'doubt it' side until I played a pin at the Allentown show with it
(not sure if it was Invisiglass or PDI) and then played the pin next to
it which didn't have it. I was very surprised as to how much of a
difference it made. As Joe said though (hi Joe!), the value is
subjective. To me it's worth it and I will be buying when there's
another sale.

I have neon lights on all 4 walls surrounding my pins in my gameroom. Before I had Invisiglass on all my pins, I had to turn off my neons to play, now I don't.
