I have a Bally Lost World that has worked great for years. Now when I turn it on the game playfield and backglass light up but the game does not boot up.

When I watch the MPU board for the 7 flashes it does not do that. Each time I turn the game on it is different. One time the light will go on and stay on. The next time the light will not go on at all. Nest time it will flash 5 times. Nest time it will flash 1 time. More times the green light just stays on.

Do you think the board can be fixed or should I pick up an Alltek board.

Thanks very much.

I would go with the Alltek. Sounds like battery corrosion issues. I had a Mata Hari that did the same thing. Chips had corrosion in the sockets

Does the board look like it has corrosion on the bottom left side from
the battery? If not I would look at fixing your board. Look at pinwiki
and if you don't feel comfortable there or plenty of us on here that can
do it for you.

Could be a number of things. Before you drop $200 on a new board that
may not fix the issue, you should probably investigate the things that
are more likely.

Has the Solenoid driver board had its filter caps replaced in the last
10 years? If the original caps are still present, its a good chance it
is a power problem. I would start by verifying you are getting the
correct voltage at each test point on the solenoid driver board. If
not, fall back a step and verify the voltage at each test point on the
rectifier board. As you are checking the voltage on each board, also
inspect the connectors to make sure they look good. If you see dull
grey pins in the connectors, signs of corrosion or signs of heat damage
then you will need to address that. If your connectors are bad putting
a new Altek board in your game will not resolve your issues.

Before assuming it is a MPU problem check for power probems. Check
for 5v on the MPU. Check for AC voltage across the filter cap on the
driver board. See PinWiki.

I can repair and rebuild your MPU if needed. $70 for no corrosion.
If it is corroded send a picture of the front and back of the MPU and
i will quote. All new sockets and header pins.
