Many of the owners of a Rotation VIII have a non working machine
because of issues from battery damage on the cpu daughter board and
years of neglect.
This last weekend a new friend Tim Polzin came down to the Seattle
area and helped me with a group of friends to resurrect not one but
three Rotation VIII Midway Pinball machines.
The first machine I bought was in a barn in eastern Washington still
covered with hay (inside and out) the next one I bought to repair the
first one and after much research and calls to other owners I found
out that most of these machine don't currently work no matter how
experienced the pinball owners were.
After acquiring 3 of these machine purely by providence I also found
Tim who lives in Canada and had, through his own Rotation frustrations,
developed a new cpu/daughter board for this unusual machine.
Tim has a great web site for Rotation owners at www.polzin.ca that has
u-tubes of the game in play.
I am also proud to announce that all three machine will be on free
play at the Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show June 7-9 in Tacoma
Washington.
Pictures of the machines are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/38269639@N08/.

I strongly encourage people to contact Tim as he also rebuilt the
boards at a very reasonable cost and embarrassed my 15 years of
pinball stupidity/experience and we had fun.

This is awesome news. I've only been in the hobby a few years but have
see.a few on craigslist all non working. Even one that someone gave
away and 2 weeks later the recipient sold it for a few hundred still
in non working condition. Oscar I think was his name.
It's great to see life breathed back into these things. Applause to
the problem solver and to the person spreading the word.

Yep, just fell asleep watching a pinball machine spin around. Novelty
at its best and worst, its not a wonder the formula for game play and
footprint has never really changed much when it came to compete with
video. There is no point, 2-4 people sitting around the same table for
pin is just not really right. Nice you got them up and working,
definitely a historical item, but man sad game...

Only sad for you frank .because the novelty of the game would be a lot
of work for you having to change seats every ball as NO ONE would want
to play with you.

Frodd, I am so glad I do not hear your babble on Pinside. You are such a piece of work. It is awesome he got these games working. For you the challenge would be to tie your shoes.
