Medevil Madness
Tales of the Arabian Nights
No Good Goofers
Said they would have liked to have made a whole new collection, but
the licenses are too expensive. Game room is the same as the previous
version, just added these 3 new games. Will be available on PS3 and
XBOX 360.
I was going to wait for God of War 3 to get a PS3, but if that comes
out first....

thats awesome news . Thanks very much for letting us know . i just
imported the psp game and love it ..
MM? You just saved me 7k :-)
Why not for the Wii ?
Mike
Well there is my MM! Cool deal.
Hugh
There had been rumors that the third would be MB. Oh well, Gofers is
cool too.
WTF about any of this thread caused some loser to one star most of the
posts? Get a life!
The new version of Medevil Madness, Tales of the Arabian Nights and No
Good Goofers might cause me to purchase a ps3 or xbox 360 just for
that.
-PinZombie
The only problem I have with the Wii version is you can't switch from
right hand to left (I'm left handed). Other than that the Wii version
is pretty cool.
Hugh
Well, I see from this announcement, that there will be a new Gottlieb
collection on the Wii, including Central Park and Ace High.
http://www.gaming-age.com/news/2009/6/1-4
It says Q4 for Gollieb Wii one, and September 8 for the new Williams
version on PS3/XB360.
Yeah...I like the feel of the imitating flipper buttons on the
Wiimotes. Have been playing the Zen pinball on PS3, but it does not
feel as nice, plus they did not implement the accelerometer in the
SixAxis3 as a "shake the machine" input.
The Zen's tables are pretty creative, though. Being an EE, the Tesla
table, with it's RELUCTANCE and RESISTANCE modes or bonuses, is
interesting.

Well then it wouldn't be HD :-)
ZING!
Can't wait for this to come out....might actually take away from my
time playing GTA4.

I bought both PHoF's for my PSP and think they did a great job. In
fact, I bought 3 machines after first playing them on the Gottlieb
game (Big Shot, Genie, Black Hole).
I suppose it will cost $50-60 but I suppose that's the price of
admission.

Yeah, and if ship as close to its release date as the first Williams
Collection did, you could have it in time for Christmas 2010!

Hey Joe !
I just received my PSP version and I gotta say, I'm not that
impressed. I think VpinMame is much better.
Mostly, my complaints are with the sounds. Most of the games are
missing crucial sound effects. The digitized sounds are way too low
(in volume) and the speech/sound effects mix is poorly adjusted. For
instance, on Firepower:
The speech is too low
The sounds are too low
Awesome background sound is barely heard
Then there is the completely annoying sound effect of a ball rolling
on wood - it's really loud! This is SOOO stupid since you'd never
really hear this sound while playing unless you were playing with the
glass off !
The bitchin' sound effects of the spinner when both lit and unlit are
so low you can't hear 'em.
The star rollovers and flipper lane rollover don't make any sound at
all do they ?
Many of the other games suffer from similar problems with the sound,
yet they seemed to have this stupid "ball rolling on wood" cranked up
on every game.
Better controls of the speech sound mixture and overall digitized
volume versus mechanical sounds would be nice. Am I missing something
here ?
I don't know if other version of this game suffer from the same
problems but if I had to give a recommendation for the PSP version,
I'd say 2 thumbs down. Avoid this titles unless you enjoy playing
poorly adapted classic pinball games that are really almost unbearable
to play. YMMV.
I hope the HD version is better than this POS.
Steve
Yeah, it's far from perfect. That ball rolling noise is irritating, I
just try to tune it out.
I also hear the coin-up noise (cha-ching) at odd times while playing
Funhouse.
It's the best you're going to get on a handheld, though!
Ok... Thanks for confirming this with me. I was beginning to wonder
if it was just me or just the PSP version.
There is no way to adjust individual volumes right?
On the Wii, you can control the music volume, the arcade volume and
the game volume independently IIRC.

Not terribly impressive looking
gloomboy
Now I can see why you chose the screen name "Gloomboy".
I think it looks great. I own it for Wii but will definitely pick it
up for Xbox360 just for the additional tables and to support the
developers/publisher for getting pinball back out there.
This "ball rolling on wood" sound has got to go. It's generally too
loud and louder than most the different games sounds effects and
speech. The only game it really seemed to work on was the only EM -
Jive Time. Do we really need this feature shoved down our throats on
every table? At least let me turn it off if I don't want it.
On the PSP version, they do give you control of volume for:
1. Music / DJ volume
2. Ambient Noises
3. Table volume
The DJ music is annoying and just takes away from the games sounds.
So this feature is useless. The Ambient noises (traffic, cars,
sirens, etc.) is also useless and adds no real value to the experience
IMO - why would anyone want to have this noise in the background while
playing ? The table volume I'm currently running at 11 (it goes that
high) and yet the FP audio is so painfully low. It doesn't allow you
to adjust the audio mixture between speech and sound effects (like you
can on Vpin or the real game). For me, on FP I need to hear that
voice calling out FIRE and POWER. Multiball just sucks when you can
barely hear "Fire 1, Fire 2, Fire 3"!
Firepower seems to be the worst example yet on the other hand, Taxi
seems to be loud enough that you don't notice the "ball on wood" sound
that is constantly going during play. The heartbeat on Gorgar is just
sad. Many of the games are missing sounds too!
Now don't get me wrong, there are some things that I like about this
package. The graphics are really good representations of the original
tables, the camera moves are enjoyable and the game play feels pretty
good too. Going through the arcade to choose what game you want to
play is kinda neat. Its just for me a huge part of the experience
(especially on Williams games) is the sound effects.
On Visual Pinball (which esentially this is an emulated version of)
you can configure the game exactly as you could on the real game.
Change the number of balls per game, change features, times,
requirements etc. Why can't I do that here ? You can also change
the volume of mechanical sounds, sound effects and speech
independently. Not here.
It's nice to have this title out there for your general gamer
population to enjoy. I hope it exposes more people to the experience
of playing pinball. For me it just doesn't cut the mustard since you
can do much better just installing and playing VpinMame on your PC.
Tons more games available, uses the exact ROM sets and generally is a
more realistic emulated experience...
Regardless, it looks great and I most likely will buy the 360 version.
Hugh
That was my point - here's TOTAN in the new WMS pack:

Now look at the screenshot on the old Williams Pinball Classics for PC from
2001 (which looks a heck of a lot better):

or even the latest (free) Visual Pinball Table from JP Salas:

I'm hoping that these are early renders and the image quality will get
better, cause there seems to be a lot of low-poly modelling here. I mean -
I'll probably still buy this, but my expecations are certainly lowered.
