To those that have TFLEs does some of the audio tracks sounds muddy.I have replaced the speakers with FF backbox and sub and I have also confirmed proper polarity (as best I can) but some of the high freq audio just sounds muddy or scratchy.

Anyone else hear this?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Don't notice it on mine.

Did you notice it before you put in the FF speaker system? I was going
to in stall FF system on mine this weekend but a little hesitant now.

It's possible you're hearing it because the speaker upgrades sound
better/reproduce more of the audio spectrum.

Most speaker upgrades take a bit getting used to. Just replacing the
blown torn speaker on my meteor with a newer car style speaker
completely changed the sound of the game, you get used to it though.

I too just ordered the FF speaker system and would love to know if others are experiencing what Bill is!

My problem is that I replaced the speaker before ever turning the game on for the first time.
so I cannot say what it sounded like.
I have tried with and without the backbox speakers installed and didn't notice a difference.

First rule of NIB pin ownership: Open box, play and verify
functionality first, then mod :)

I have not noticed this on my game. Can you take a sample and upload to
Youtube? If you have a iPhone or Android set you can put something up
easily.

What code version are you running? I seem to remember that on an
earlier code release (on stock speakers)....

I am running V1.5 which I believe is the most current version.
Maybe I will try and reload the code.
Just in case it was some how corrupted.

OK, I thought I remembered the high frequency crackle being in an
earlier version like 1.2, but can't specifically recall. If you have
the latest gamecode installed it should not be there. Did you call
Mike Pupo, he could help make sure the FF install went perfect.
Does the current FF setup have an adjustment for crossover of the
frequencies sent between the backbox and the cabinet speakers? If so
it might be an adjustment. On older versions I thought that was
controlled at the sub which might explain why you are hearing the same
problem when swapping the backbox speakers....

If there's no more crossover, I believe it would eliminate this
possibility. You may want to put the original cabinet speaker back
in place just to make sure.

The other thing I'd say was there were quite a few sound settings in
the game menu (I think it was meant to be video game like where you
could control sound of game effects versus voice effect....adjust the
overall mix). I played with them, but never noticed any actual
output difference. I'd confirm these are all set at factory as well
just to rule it out.

Thanks John,

I think this is my 10th or 11th FF speaker install so I am pretty sure I got it right.
I ALWAYS trace the + and - all the way back to the board because it is very common for them to be miss wired from the factory.
The muddyness is after the end of a ball when playing the Decepticon.
I did reload the sw to make sure and I can't tell a difference.
I have been through every one of the game option and I have my "voices audio" cranked up to 20 so I can hear the voices better.
But that made no difference.

Might put the original speaker back in to see if i still hear it.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I need to clear up some confusion regarding this post.
It was NEVER my intent to make this sound like I thought my concerns regarding the muddy audio in my TF was do to the Flipper Fidelity sub woofer upgrade.
I put Michael's Flipper Fidelity kits in all my new machines and I have been very happy with the quality of the Flipper Fidelity kit's, sound and specially Michael's commitment to GREAT customer service.
Michael reached out to me after someone told him I had a problem and immediately offered to replace my kit and provide what ever support needed to make sure it was right and I was happy.
I am VERY happy with Michael's products.

I now believe the audio I was asking about i a sound effect in one of the tracks and not a flaw or faulty equipment.
My apologies to Michael(and to Stern) for the misunderstanding.
I love my TFLE combo and think George and team did a great job on it.
